I can not understand why people bash other religions, But I see "christians" bash Mormons ( who are christian) more than any other religion. They read the bible, they belive in Christ. They believe that Christ visited ALL of his people after the resurrection, but for some reason that tiny detail enrages so many WHY???

I know I know. It is because we have horns. Oh wait no it is because we are Crazy enough to believe that God loves all his children. Oh wait that can't be it, maybe it was cause Joseph smith was a magician. Oh I know it must be because we believe God called an uneducated 14 year old boy to lead us. Or may be it's cause we have 12 million + members in the world.

Honestly I don't know why we are hated. We are active members of every comunity. Our kids go to school and are taught to study their own religion. I wish more people took the time I do to find out what they believe in. All I know is that I have been in the church for 27 years and I will never leave it. I have felt the Spirit of God confirm to me that it is where I belong.

God bless you all what ever your religion. Study and Pray and ask God with a sincere heart what is true and what is not. And as far as that silly book mentioned in one of the other answers, if you want to know what The LDS believe try asking one of them. Other wise you might as well go to a Chevy dealer to buy a Ford.

I wouldn't be so sure that Mormons are bashed more than any other religion. But, God has a purpose for all Christian religions. I don't think one is better (or more "right") than the other. Just like I don't think any of them are perfect. There is always room for improvement because we are people. People are human and pick the differences out in others. Human nature. Doesn't make it right. Just a fact. If you're Mormon or Catholic or Baptist or whatever - give it to God and don't worry about what others think. If you seek his word and pray daily - he will reveal truth to those he can trust.

Mormons Believe this:
The reason why we need religion is because we do not realize that humans on themselves can't maintain. That's why God the father exists, we do not fully realize that God's commandments are a sacred laws of virtue; we don't see virtue being sacred. If we in this world applied all the negative things to our lives we as humans will not exist, but if we keep applying everything that is of virtue we will realize we are not only destroying our bodies but also our spirits within, which I believe it's our true and natural selves. We have to realize that we are not only part of the universe but participants of it. We have to magnify the spiritual power within us, but only through righteousness can such power be magnified. All things that are of matter of this world come from pure energy, we are energy, our spirits are energy, we are One in God and God within us. God is Omni potent, Omni scient, and Omni present (in spirit), that is why God is an emotional God. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saint believes that God was once man, but before he became God he found and mastered the spirit within himself. The forefathers of America build this nation under the sacred laws of virtue.

Proverbs: Chapter 8 verse 22-33:

22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor athe highest part of the dust of the world.
27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.

I believe in this. Read the scriptures with prudence and precept by precept, and pray God for the Spirit of Truth.

Because Satan has blinded the Christians into thinking their religion and beliefs are enough...which they sadly are not. Though they do have a lot of good, they are not complete.
What kills me is that me, a good person who tries to follow the commandments, is going to "hell" according to them because in their eyes I am not "born again" or whatever...but a convicted murderer who has done everything wrong in his life can all of a sudden say "oh I accept Christ" and they are going to heaven...and STILL commit sin, not repent, but they are saved.
I just don't understand their logic. But, oh well, to each their own.

Hmm, it's a mystery, all right. Maybe people aren't ready to slow down and study it out a little longer. I do my best to refer people to commentaries which are not impossible to obtain, but for some reason they would rather believe the anti-Mormon stuff. In the meantime, we'll just keep going about our business and smile.

They aren't Christians. There is more to being a Christian than believing in Christ and reading the Bible.
They also accept the Book of Mormon as scripture, as holy.
The Jesus they believe in is the brother of Satan (Satan is an Angel, Jesus is God, they're not bros),
they say He is just one of many gods that all have their own planet to rule (Jesus is the ONLY God of ALL creation),
the Mormon Church coerces its members into giving a 10% tithe (tithe should be given only through the desire of the giver, not forced out of them at the cost of church membership),
they deny the Trinity,
they deny the existence of Hell,
they change the Book of Mormon, removing passages as it suits their needs.
They didn't believe that people of color could enter their version of Heaven until one of their "prophets" said so on Sept. 30th 1978 (that's only 28 years ago!),
they don't encourage questioning of their beliefs by members (cult-like behavior).
I could go on and on. It bugs me that they try to align themselves with Christians. They try to blend in, but their beliefs are totally different from those of Christians. What is "scary" about them is the way they deceive people into thinking they are just another denomination of believers. That is dispicable. They aren't honest and upfront about their real beliefs, that's totally shady.
Is there any evidence that Native Americans practiced Christianity before America was invaded by Europe? No, there isn't! Jesus never came to the Indians and taught them his Gospel face to face after the Resurrection. That is hardly a "tiny" detail. It is heresy. You asked the question. There's your answer.
PINKADOT Are you saying the Blood of Christ is not enough for salvation? 'Cuz Christians believe it is. We think Jesus' final sacrifice is more than enough to save our souls from death, no matter how bad the sin. Now I know for sure Mormons aren't Christians, if they deny the ability of the Blood of the Lamb to sanctify.
What else is there to salvation? Do I have to wear special undies with secret symbols on them? Will that save me? Do I have to do good works so that men approve of me? Will that save me? Go read a bible. Not just the parts your brethren show you, read the whole thing. Make sure its not printed by the Latter Day publishers, they alter verses on a whim.

Most of them think that the bible is the only book that you can be a christian in. Most of them havent even looked at a Book of Mormon. Thay just hear the name and just assume, by from what thay have learned at there believe, that it is bad. Thay think its a book from the devil or the anti-Christ. its not. its just another book of how god helps and heals our lives. unless thay have personally asked or going to read the Book of Mormon, thay can just keep there thoughts to there selves.

To bash is one thing to tell the truth is another. Mormons are scary to Christians because Mormon doctrine is sending people to Hell.
Christians love Mormons and don't want them to be deceived.

Can not get a decent cup of coffee in Utah. As an espresso drinker, I harbor deep resentments about this issue.

Mormons legislate religion. So do other Christians...I guess one cult is no different than the other. Nobody like a door to door saleman.

Mormons go house to house pitching their brand of religion. For someone to come up to me and tell me I am going to hell because I am not Mormon, is putting a curse on me. Fighting words. Catholics do this too, but they don't go house to house. Baptist do a little door to door, but generally they don't read enough of the bible. They are easily confused.

No one likes a person pushing religion. Or for that much, politics too.
