I am a born-again Christian, but I don't try to shove my beliefs on others. I believe that learning about Christ should be something that is shown through actions. Being a good person, being like He was. Some people get crazy about it, and it turns people away. What I would do is ask them why they try to force it down your throat, and if they realize that the way they go about teaching the word does NOT make people want to become Christians. It's people like them that make being a Christian odd.

Forcing beliefs on other people is a crime against the laws of the universe. We have freedom of choice for a reason. Fanatical believers are just as bad as atheists.
Though both mock the other they are in fact the same. Both groups "believe" there is god or no god with no solid proof. Hence believes are not enough you need to KNOW and experience yourself.
If you would like to learn what the universe and god is about then I can help you. I can lead you to the water but you must drink it, I cannot force you to but it may help you. Though this may be the best gift anybody can give to you.
If you would like to prove to yourself GOD exists without a shred of doubt in a logical, rational and simple way go to this link and download this FREE BOOK.

I am a christian, but I don't try to force my beliefs on anyone. I do testify about Jesus when the occasion arises, because that's what we are told to do by Jesus, but all we can do is plant a seed and then it's up to God and you whether you accept it or not. I definitely do not believe in harping about it to anyone, because that would be like saying that God can't do His part. We tell people about Jesus because we want everyone to have what we have. But of course, the choice is yours. No one can force that choice on you. If someone should keep on at you after you have asked them to stop, they shouldn't do that. You may have to just walk away. God bless you!!!

My question is, "Are you an Atheist?" If so, can man recreate anything out of nothing? There is a zero to infinity which you will never reach. All dead people believed in something. They left their heritage in writings for you to read. All knowledge comes from the past. All present cause and effect is utilized for your purpose of existence. So you have choices to make from what you have learned. You cannot get away from yourself, being that all present humans share in your existence. It is your right to be alone. You will find out in the end the truth anyway. Just tell them you don't discuss religion. You want to find the truth on your own and you will whether you want to or not.

no one can force you to become a Christian and no one can convert you. Sometimes we can be over zealous in trying to convince someone that they need Christ. We only do this out of a love of others and a desire to see their souls won to Christ. I appologize for those who don't see the difference between being zealous and being over zealous. I pray that something someone has said will have planted a seed that will over time grow and bring you to the faith.

First of all, do you believe in Jesus Christ now, since they have forced you to believe? No, well obviously your statement is irrelevant because it is impossible to force anyone to believe anything, unless they want to believe, otherwise there would be a heck of a lot of people, believing since I keep hearing about how so many are being fiorced to believe yet who believes? There you go, it does not work!!!!!

Read "The End of Faith" and "A Letter to a Christian Nation" by Sam Harris (or other books like them), and maybe you won't respect Christianity and other religions any longer. And even if you still do at least you'll know what to say to them.

Many believe that they should be "fishers of men" and that it is part of being a good Christian to bring others into the fold. I just walk away if they keep jabbering on when I tell them I have no interest. It is just as rude as trying to convince THEM there is no God.
I say they need to look at the plank in their own eye before they start bothering others for the speck in theirs....Hey! Jesus said that, too! Go figure.

Hmmm! As a Christian I don't understand that either! Jesus Christ is Himself a gentleman who won't force His way into anybody's life. He stands at the door and knocks but we as individuals are not required to answer that knock. As a Christian I do feel an obligation to "go into all the world and preach the gospel" (as the Bible instructs us to do) and I try to spread that word of God in this forum as well as to the people God places in my life but there is a line that mustn't be crossed. Once the truth is delivered we have a responsibility to let it go and pray that God will use that word to show you the truth for yourself. I apologize on behalf of my fellow Christian brothers and sisters if you feel we have been forcing our faith on you. I'm sure that would not be pleasing to God.
Praying for you in your quest for the truth!

I would say if they start in on the trying to convert: Although I respect your religion I would appreciate if not try to force it upon me. If they persist I would repeat and add: that it is rude to continue this conversation as I have already stated my point and would rather change the subject.
