I don't believe in such things but I can compare this scenario to when people blame a prof. for failing them. It's you who fail yourself, no the prof. Ya know?

I'm not sure if He sends you to Hell, it's just that you can't be in Heaven if your sins are not cleaned by the blood of Jesus.
Heaven is so pure and no darkness or evil can enter, that's why a sacrifice had to be made.
Being a good person has nothing to do with it. Turning away from sin & being sorry and asking Jesus to help you to not sin any more is what will get you to Heaven. It has to be with a sincere heart.
When the Holy Spirit comes inside you, you realize what a huge sinner you really are!
You actually have a better chance of getting into Heaven since you admitted that you are not really a good person. We've all sinned, but the people that say they're a good person and should go to Heaven are less likely to ever admit that they're a sinner and they need Christ.
As far as going to church. What happened to me is that when I gave my life to Christ, I WANTED to go to church. It's so awesome to have a family that is learning along with me, we support each other, point out sin and pray for each other and help each other out of jams, etc.
It sounds like you might be seeking. Head into a non-denominational church. They'll probably welcome you and you can learn more. You may end up turning your life around like I did.

People who choose to reject God likely wouldn't be happy in heaven, so where else is there for them to go?
And since eternity seems to be a permanent state of existence, once something's settled there, it's settled forever.
Catholics believe in an intermediate state called Purgatory, which would allow God to refine those souls who might yet be saved, so there is some hope for those who aren't totally evil.
As to how you'll end up, only God will judge, but since you've been baptized, you're already a member of God's family, so you're way ahead of the game.
If you still have a Bible, take a look at the Gospel of Luke, chapter 15, verse 11.
Maybe it's time you learned to appreciate God for who he really is, so you can make the right choices in life, before it's too late.

God doesn't send His children to hell, would you? No, of course not ... it's those who disclaim Him that go to hell.
Your question, "if God loves us, why would He send us to hell" has so many wrong things in it. Do you know what love means? I'm not being sarcastic or anything, I seriously wonder if you know what it means. Love has consequences. If a man loves a woman, he doesn't run around sleeping with other women because the consequence of that is he loses the one he truly loves.
Another wrong to your question is that God is the one sending you to hell, when in fact, you go there of your own accord, despite His pleas for you to be with Him instead. For instance, I love my daughter, but what if she walked out on me one day, gave me the finger and never came back? Of course, I'd go after her, plead with her to come back, but what if she didn't? Ever? At what point do I say I've lost my girl for good? God set that point at the moment of your death.
Oh, btw, whoever told you that only good people can become Christians didn't read the Bible. The greatest teacher of the New Testament, Paul, was a horrible person, until God changed him. It's not what you've done that matters to God, it's that from this moment on you determine to walk with Him instead.

Actually, all the dead go to hell. Read Revalation 20; 13- 14. However, God is under no obligation to give eternal life to someone who doesn't want to obey His commandments and accept the the ransom sacrifice of Jesus Christ. A fiery hell has been taught by many religions and was misinterpreted with the Gehenna that Jesus talked about, which was the valley of Hinnom where trash and the dead bodies of criminals was burned. These men were already killed before being thrown there, and the only reason for this was because they were seen as unfit for a decent burial.

Why ask here? Read the Gospel of John. Get the information then ask yourself what do you really believe? Only you can answer that.
Hell is going to be full of people that thought they were good people but they never took the time to understand or even read the guidelines.
If you understand why hell is for and why those that go there are there for. Then you can see what the price was that was paid and what it takes to keep from going there.
Yes people that seem to be good will go to hell. Guilty of one broken law is the same as all. Payment is made in one of two ways, the choose is yours as to how your payment will be paid. On a blood stained cross or forever in hell. No one can make that choice for you. Being good or just thinking you are good means nothing in the eyes of God. If you have ever broken just one of his laws, you only have judgment or grace.
You choose. No one can do that for you.

God does not send people to hell they choose to go there.
Think of it like this at the begining of the semester the teacher tells the students what they need to do to get an A. He also says Listen to be I love you and I want you to get an A in this course.
On student doesn't listen, he goofs off never does home work and partys all night. Eventually he finds that he has recieved an F in the course. Can he say, "I thought you loved me teacher why did you give me an F?"
Now Of course a Christian does not work for salvation like the student,he must belive in Christ.
Because he can't to the work Christ did it for him.

Going to hell has something to do with being a bad boy.
Government puts bad boys into jail. Some states will still lock you up for 5 years for smoking pot or 3 years for fooling around with a 16 year old girl.
You have free will. You choose to live life whatever way you decide. If government or God doesn't like it, they have rights too!

Hell is most likely an unfortunate concept that's been used and abused for the sake of scaring people into being better or risk eternal damnation. Remember, the Bible was written by some relatively primitive men....and can definately NOT always be taken literally.
Not that I don't beleive there's a God...I do.

that is a good question, it is one that tough to answer. If God wants us to obey him and then he will send us to heaven, he is not a God of love but one of slavery. On the other hand if he gives us rules so that we will be safe and happy like a father gives his son, He is a God of love.
Now does God send people to hell for disobeying or for not believing? No one can tell you the answer to that, for only God has the power to do that, and no where in the bible does it claim that people will be sent to hell for not believing or obeying
The question is one that only God can answer

God does love you and He does not desire that anyone should perish but that all would have eternal life with Him. But you have a choice and He will not let sin enter into heaven (if He did it wouldn't be heaven). So you can ask Jesus to clean you from your sin, give you a new life in Him and then you will be able to enter heaven. God is not sending you to hell, it is your choice.
