Yes but only for a short time. Anytime you put something in your mouth your saliva glands start working to help break it down. But when they get used to the new objects in the mouth it will subside. I tell patients to suck on sugar free candy to help with the saliva issue- a couple of days and your mouth should be back to normal.

Yeah, I had them and it's a side effect. But, as your body gets used to having a foreign object in the mouth, the amount of saliva returns to normal.

sugar free gum gets rid of it (it absorbs it)...also the metal has less molecules so ur mouth creates water or saliva to stabalize.

you're probably producing lots of saliva as protection against the braces cutting your lips/gums - it acts as lubricant so less cutting occurs
