Yes, very true. However, how can you trust your children anywhere without you? Pedophiles, rapists, child molestors, etc,... are everywhere.

Most pastors are not child molesters, only a few of them are. The problem is that the media hates the church and every time this happens they make it front page news for weeks. The church did try to hide this years ago but today they are actually doing something to address this issue. Besides, there are other children in Sunday school, predators are cowards and only strike children who are alone. If your kids are with friends they will be okay.

Attend the Sunday school with your child and get to meet the pastor, and also talk to the children as well as parents.

Talk to other people in the church,do some checking on the pastor. The pastor
usually isn't the person teaching your childs class .If you are that uncomfortable go with them a few times just to see what's up.You are going
to be in church with them aren't you.Besides the bible teaches not to worry
but to pray and the lord will take care of it.If you are truly faithful then you live
behind the hedge and you will know if isn't right for your children. If it doesn't
feel right it probably isn't.

Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
Clearly you want to put your trust in men.
But you are not trusting God.
Your pastor is probably NOT the one to teach in the Sunday School.
Talk to your church administrators and ask if they have a screening process for Sunday School teachers.

Well, pastors don't really teach sunday school anymore.
And most churches have backgroud checks/police reports done on prospective teachers.
They're safer at sunday school than they are in regular school, considering you don't often hear of guns and drugs in churches.

you can trust a sunday school... but don't trust whoever told you that most pastors are molestors. Whoever leads the sunday school most likely isnt even a pastor anyway.
