Sure, nothing wrong with methane gas as a fuel..
Where is it going to be stored on the vehicle ?
There is no distribution infrastructure...

Methane probably could be used with a properly calibrated mixer (a type of gas carburator), but the options for fill ups are few and far between. There are conversion kits for vehicles to run on natural gas, propane, or dual propane and gasoline.
If your house is heated with natural gas your supplier can furnish you with a home filling station, which will allow you to fill up your car at home.
Propane is a viable alternative as it's available everywhere and automotive filling stations are becomming more common. In a pinch you can use a 12lb BBQ tank to get an extra 25 miles or more as a emergency reserve.

It is a good fuel in a fixed location type of application. They use it a lot in South America...I can't remember which country, but they ferment sugar cane stocks and generate electricity with it.. I don't think it can be made portable to be used in automotive use which is also the main problem with hydrogen fuel cells.. Hydrogen will first be used in power plants to make electricity where they can store large amounts of fuel... Our millions of trash dumps are making free methane every Day and we should be building generators on top of them...
