Drink plenty of fluids and eat a healthy meal before you go. Afterwards, drink more and they usually have a high carb snack waiting for you in case you feel weak. I have given blood quite a bit and have never felt any different afterwards.

Eat breakfast and have fruit juice. After you donate, rest like they tell you, stay away from caffeine, and drink fruit juice and water. Do nothing strenuous that day.
I have given blood this year, and am 57, no problems, I like to talk and joke while giving, and it is over before I know it. Have a few jokes ready, it will help everyone!
Good work!

Be sure to eat 4-6 hours ahead of your donation time. No illegal drugs. Have a list of any medications you might be on. Answer all the questions truthfully. And thanks for donating!

Indeed. do eat well right before and drink plenty of fluids, also you can take a jolly rancher or some small hard candy and suck on it while you donate. that helps also!

I think that's the one to check your iron level. If you're anemic they won't let you donate.

BE CALM, THERE ARE GOING TO CANALIZE A VEIN IN YOUR ARM, IT MAY HURT AT FIRST BUT LATER IT WONT HURT. EAT VERY WELL BEFORE THE DONATION, AND REST WELL. AFTER THE DONATION , DONT DO MUCH EXERCISE, EAT VERY WELL, ALOT OF LIQUIDS ADN REST WELL. THE MOST IMPORTANT IS BE CALM BEFORE, AND REST AFTER.
