Yes, he might even be tried as an adult because he's close enough to it and it was severe. PLUS he fled the scene, that's a sign of guilt, remember to mention that he ran away.

I think most of you are idiots. Of course he would be charged as an adult. The worst case for the 17 year old would be that he gets charged with assault. The court will see it as a waste of time and plea it down to a misdemeanor and make the kid pay restitution payments for the medical cost. You could then take him (his parents) to civil court. If he has homeowners insurance they will settle out of court for a little amount of money. If they don't have homeowners insurance then they are poor and it will not really be worth the time.

Yeah he could get in trouble, like you woulden't belive. Yeah you can press charges. (That probably would be the smart thing to do). But I always like to chose the dumb thing to do. The dumb thing is to gather up your friends, (or family) get armed, (Bats, sticks, knifes perferably guns) go to the spot whare your brother got hit, and hang around thare for 5 hours a day until you catch that peice of ****. When you catch him make it so his sorry *** can't walk. Don't kill him, because suffering is worse then death. The dumb way probably would put you in trouble too, but it lets a lot of weight off your sholuders. Then again the smart way is prabably the best way. That way you can put a impact on them as far as finance goes. And you won't get into trouble. But since your brother had to go get plastic surgory, sue whoever did it for no less than $500,000.

Sue the kid for damages, both medical expenses and damages; mental and physical. This is also assault with a deadly weapon! Did your son do anything to instigate? They look at that too, but the charges are still legit.

18 yr old can sue or press assault battery charges. 17 yr old would go to court. if he says not guilty. brother and dr would be subpoena'd to court. with a dr being a professional in his field. unless your brother punched him first, kid would be considered self defense. then ur bro is in bigger trouble cause kid isnt 18.
