ROFLMAO
I am lucky if I get to brush my hair or teeth...free time fun time ha..I usually am cleaning up the house in my freetime with an infant and a toddler I don't get to have fun but they have loads of it as does their father. Being a SAHM is a thankless job and you don't get vacation time. And you rarely get thanked and the pay is in cherished memories not money. I think SAHP's need to start a union to get vacation benefits or some kind of compensation for raising the worlds youth...

It depends on which style of fun you mean - having fun with the kids, or having fun for myself?

Having fun with the kids?
Go to the zoo, museums, playground, parks, gatherings of other stay-at-homes w/ kids doing similar things
Stay at home and color, paint, run in the yard, make a mess, make lunch (can be a big fun thing for the kid).
The age of the child(ren) will greatly effect what activities are seen as "fun".

Have fun for myself?
Well, if I've managed to shower and brush my hair and done all the chores and grocery shopping and cleaning and laundry ....
I read, I surf the internet, I attend a stay-at-home-organization at my church that provides childcare during meetings (talk about a god-send!), I watch movies at home or TV, do crossword puzzles.

The problem is finding enough time to actually accomplish one thing in particular - 15 minutes here or there usually isn't a problem - but one whole hour? not interrupted by something? Now that is something to simply be savored.

If I'm very, very lucky, I get to shower before I go anywhere! Otherwise, it's hair in a bun and off we go to the park, or on errands. My little one loves to go to the stores and smile and wave at all the friendly people who can't help but smile and wave back at her. So I take her where the people are. When we can't be out and about, we play at home. She's only 15 months old, so mostly it's peekaboo and "I'm gonna getcha!" or hide and seek. When my older kids get home from school, we make art projects or play games together. They're 11 and 12 so I can take a shower then while they play their games with the little one. We just had a big Halloween party this weekend so we had lots of fun planning and preparing for that last week.

Stay-at-home parents WORK during the day! Taking care of little ones is a full-time job! There's diapers to change, potty training, cooking for them, cleaning up after them, taking them to the doctor, shopping, doing laundry, washing dishes, cleaning house. If they're lucky, mom or dad might get to put their feet up long enough to eat a sandwich and watch a soap opera while the baby/child is napping. And at the end of a "normal" workday, others clock out and go home. Stay-at-home parents aren't done for the day til the children are bathed and put to bed!

I have fun spending time with my little one, although I truly relish when she goes down for her nap. If it's early, I sneak in a nap, too...hopefully for more than 20 minutes. When she's awake, there's nothing more fun than watching her play...especially when she looks up at me with an ear to ear grin, or when she squeals and giggles!!! When she's down for the night, that's when I escape and play on the computer or snuggle with my husband....now that's fun!!!

Is this supposed to be a joke? Like we have free time? If I get 5 minutes to go pee I feel blessed! And then I usually have at least one of them either running through the house screaming "MOOOMMMMYYYY!!!!" at the top of their lungs or if my hiding place is discovered they are beating at the door wanting to come in while I pee. If I get to the point where I can't take it anymore I bundle them up and walk to the park. I guess that would be the "fun" part.

When I used to stay home with my son, we would go visit the local zoo or museum. Or, when we had absolutely nothing to do, we just got to Disneyland (we both have an annual pass).

um, my mom stays at home. she makes supper in the morning so it's ready to be made when supper time rolls around. she takes care of the little kids. she also homeschools us. i know stay-at -home moms who don't homeschool. i think they clean, probably, and do errands so that when their kids get home they can spend time with them. i think it really helps family life to have the mother stay at home.

Get on the computer for a minute or two. :-)

For fun with the kids we like to go to the park, color, and play with friends.
