I don't see why people with differences, can't accomplish a common goal if the intent is unanimous.
Language/race/religion....it shouldn't matter. Love can over-come differences.

Hold up! This is the origin of the division of languages. Before the tower of bable, everyone on the planet spoke the same language. Emagion yourself creating a giant project with a large team of people. It was then that suddenly, people spoke jibberish. There were no translators, nothing.
What do you think would happen? No one could take leadership of the mess, because no one would understand that person. It would take a miracle for something to get done, when everyone has different positions, and they can't co-op at all. Building a tower is hard enough when you do speak the same language.
No It's no just laying bricks. Someone has to lead rooms, passages, actutecture, it goes on and on. No one speaking an unknown language and lead.
As for your girlfriend, you obveoustly have atleast some idea of each other's language. How else could one propose?

Its rather difficult to build a detailed structure if the builders can not understand precisely what it required of them. The tower of Babel that was planned would have put the Pyramids of Egypt to shame - and extremely complex. It wasn't just piling bricks.
You assume people of that time were dumb. They understood a need for structure strength tolerances of a structure that size had to be allowed for.
And when you get down to the nitty gritty - if you read just prior to the tower of Babel, there were already various languages in existence. What God did was t o "CONFUSE" their understanding. Hence the language spoken could have even been of the same dialect - BUT their language (communication skills) were confused. So what you're dealing with is a figure of speech. Ever see a project fail because of a failure to communicate? BINGO Now you understand what I am saying!
They could not understand each other and had to disband. This ultimately lead to other cultures across the world. Cultures have many conflicting ways of doing things - but with classes, they learn other languages and about the ways of other people. And that takes time.
Teaching the masses it would require to build the tower would have require numerous teachers.., and those teachers would have had to LEARN the ways of all these other people so you're talking about an extraordinary amount of time required for the project.

that's a rather ridiculous parallel you're making. making a baby is easy. Too elementary. Insert this into that, flow slightly. Pow. There you pass. making a tower takes making plans, coordination, measurements, logistics, and so on. attempting to try this jointly as conversing diverse languages could be darn dificult. Are you thinking of the Tower of Babel tale? all people construction that tower spoke a similar language. They have been honestly very powerful in construction the tower. Too powerful. whilst they tried to boost the tower bigger than heaven, God have been given all sorts of offended and laid the smack-down on the tower. He scattered the folk world extensive and made them talk diverse languages so as that they could no longer pull that crap lower back. he's very shielding of his Cloud Mansion and he would not prefer people monitoring dirt by way of it.

Um, not quite...
The Tower of Babel is what separated the languages - the people were so full of pride, they felt like they could build a tower tall enough to be face-to-face with God, or on His level, or as great as He, etc... So He made them start speaking in different languages. They couldn't communicate, so they couldn't keep working together...
This story is a good example of what can happen when people try to make themselves equal to God - it can have GLOBAL consequences...

NOt just for the fact that this created total CHAOS, but u have to remember what they were trying to build. This tower was supposed to go up in the heavens. We look in awe at the pyramides but this tower would have made those look like clubhouses. Now try building or working with anyone that u can't understand. It's very frustrating. I hope u and your fiancee can bridge those gaps.

Marky;
Up until that day, the whole population spoke one language. They'd never had to deal with not being able to communicate. All of a sudden, they have to learn who speaks their language, they have to learn if they can communicate any other way, and most of all, God purposefully confounded them. They couldn't communicate if their lives depended on it. After centuries of learning to deal with different languages and cultures, it seems silly to some of us, but this event was as much a world shaker as was the earthquake that formed the mountains and oceans.

Perhaps it was not just the language, but the immediate hysteria all workers would face in light of the sudden change. Also, don't go comparing love to building a ziggurat.

For a start, GOD INITIATED this differences in tongues , so believe it or not, it was God's intention to stop that tower there and then, so it stopped ...You see , languages mean alot in proper communication...ACTIONS may be an option for the builders to proceed but who would work with one hand and signal his message successfully with the other hand ? COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN in any walk of life is just unthinkable...at home where you are planning to move into with your girl, all the best, bro..but know that at times you will face hardship because of your diifferences of languages...but where God reigns and TRUE LOVE is , there is nothing impossible..Congratulations...frustrations may arise at times but these are minor...from experience, I speak Rotuman and my wife speaks Fijian BUT OUR MAIN LANGUAGE used at home is ENGLISH...problems arise at times about these language barriers but we are surviving close to 20 years through GOD'S HELP ! .....May God Bless you

I've been in the building trades all my life. I hope you have a more realistic idea of building relationships than you do towers.
