my cat also has "loose skin" hanging from her belly, that is what I call it, too. It is furry not just bald skin. It is totally normal for cats to have. My cat was spayed 9 years ago, is completely healthy (just had her annual physical in Aug.) and is in good shape; sometimes it just happens. If you are still concerned ask your vet about it at your next annual exam to set your mind at ease.

Hi there. I tried to find some info for you but I couldn't find anything. Both my cats (they are male and female) have been fixed and my little boy does have some fatty areas/loose skin on either side of his belly. He is quite normal and is quite active as well as doesn't eat anymore than normal. My next door neighbour's cat is ten years old and he has also had that all his life. I just hope this helps in the meantime, until you can get a concrete answer :)

This is pretty normal especially if a cat has ever had kittens. Their bellies and boobies get bigger and it just hangs. If it is really alot of skin hanging down, I would take my cat to the vet and just ask about it. I think all of my animals are my children since I don't have any kids and I take them to the vet all of the time if I have a question I am not familiar with at all. But to me, when I had both of my cats fixed, their bellies didn't hang down at all. So I would be more prone to taking mine to the vet to ask and be on the safe side. Good luck.

No worry, my Muffin was spayed when she was a year old, about 2 years later she developed a little tummy flab, but she's also the most active cat I've ever had, she climbs up our tree out front and goes across the roof to my bedroom window on a daily basis. She loves to run and antagonize my German Shepherd too, so she gets plenty of exercise and never seemed to get rid of her 'tummy flab', that was 14 years ago, and she's still goin' strong !

I have males and females. All are fixed but things are always harder on us women. The girls are all Heifers. One looks like a beach ball and the other one I nicknamed Pigskin she is built like a football. Cats are seldom overactive the males kick it up a notch once or twice a day. Our boys are slender; they have to wait till the ladies are done feasting. Yesterday I was sick and they were very happy to have Mommy lay around all day. Love them all. Enjoy!

I have thought the same thing with my female cat I adopted at age 5.
The vet gave me no information about this when I asked. I just thought she had babies and this was the outcome.
But for your information, I just adopted a kitten age 8 months, female, fixed and she has the same problem.
You just wonder?

Saw the jokes. Heard such a lot of them earlier than. Wouldn't fear an excessive amount of approximately offending men and women. Lots of men and women take existence too severely besides. It was once only a few jokes. If I bought disenchanted with the entire dull Irish jokes on right here we would not ever have amusing. Fair play for apologizing however individuals who complained must relax a little too. Have a celebrity *

this is completely normal. some cats have a little more belly flab to help them run faster. the more belly flab, the more they can stretch out, the faster they can run.
