Go see a doctor and get him to prescribe you either Zoloft or Lexapro. Also, you will need a kick start like Xanax to help calm you down at first wen you have these panic attacks. This is clearly a chemical imbalance and needs to be treated as a physical ailment. Best wishes, if you need to chat you message me on messenger at sandstorm_1999.

There are ways to immediately treat the symptoms, like deep breathing, hard exercise, and modifying your diet to reduce the amount of nerve-wracking additives like sugar and caffeine. Of course, there are also anti-anxiety medications which I think are a wonderful tool for helping a person balance their mind and body initially.

The hardest and most important part, though, is figuring out what is stressing you out, and learning how to stop the impact these issues have upon you. What is triggering you? It may be one big thing or many small things, but unfortunately, it will probably never just "all go away." You are going to have to do some soul searching to force it to go away, and it won't be easy. Some people find therapy (available at a reasonable price at your local community mental health department), while others feel more comfortable going at it alone. Whatever the case, you must determine the root of your anxiety and take any measure available to get yourself out of the stressful situation.

I had a similar experience with depression and anxiety for two years, and I tried anti-anxiety medications. They really did help, but I had problems with the way my body reacted, so I stopped taking them. I also tried counseling, but I am pretty analytical by nature and I didn't feel like I was getting any new insight from my counselor. I did figure out the root of my problem and I found an online chat group of people who were going through the same thing I was. Just being able to "talk" to others who knew what I was going through, and vent really made it all much more bearable. It took time to heal, but I haven't had a panic attack or felt depressed in six months.

I think the fact that you are reaching out to people and starting to look for answers means that you are already on the path to getting better. Just take it one little step at a time, get professional help if you can, and keep trying. You will feel like a normal person again soon, I promise.

First of all please know that you are not alone, and your anxious feelings are symtoms from something you're worrying about. You should consult your family Doc who can refer you to someone who specializes in Anxiety Disorders. I've suffered attacks for 11 years and know what it's like. Talking about what's bothering you helps a lot, whether its a friend or family member or Doc. Acknowleging that you're having an attack is a good way to start calming yourself down. Say outloud "I'm having an anxiety attack, everything will be fine." If there has been nobody around when the attack occured, a great excersize to use is write down your feelings/thoughts on paper. Remember that no matter what is on your mind can be written down, because when you are calm enough to think rationally again, you can throw away the paper if you like. (Privacy) Also, try to think of what could be worrying you (while you're writing) and put down any thought what-so-ever. Try closing your eyes and breathe! In through your mouth, out through your nose. Its good to do anytime, not just when you're having an attack. And trust me, when people around you realize you were having an anxiety attack, they'll understand. So there is one less thing for you to worry about! Relaxation excersizes are great for everyday life, no matter if you have a panic disorder or not. But please make an appointment with your Doc. It can and will help you out in the long run. (I take Paxil for my anxiety) Please email me and let me know how you are doing!

oh hun..i am sorry...anxiety attacks suck! when you feel one coming on, try to remember to breath deep slow breaths and recognize that you are having an anxiety attacks and put rational calming thoughts in your head. I strongly suggest that you make a doctors appointment and explain what is going on...don't be embarrassed....this happens to millions of people every day. the doc can prescribe some mild medications that will help keep these attacks in check. I used to suffer from the same problem but have been free of them for several years now.....but i will never forget the feeling...its horrible!

I understand your plight completely. I am now seeing a therapist on the advice of other family members as I too had been dealing with some really bad feelings. I once panicked in the bread isle in the Superstore. I was pretty hesistant at first about seeing a head doc about it but was pleasantly surprized as he seems to be able to put new perspectives on my emotions, feelings; digging up where it all came from and how to sort it out. Also I am on a perscription to aid in my depression which came with it too and that seems to mellow out some of the emotional outbreaks. One thing you can do in the meantime is a lot of breathing exercises, seriously, when you feel 'something' coming on take some really deep breaths, slow in and slow out. Be sure to try and change immediate surroundings if necessary too, find something to change your mind set. Also a regular physical exercise regime helps and good eating habits...
Good Luck!

Make an appointment with your doctor. You need an anti anxiety pill. In the meantime, take some deep breaths and get out and get some exercise in walking and fresh air. You are aware of the problem, that's the first step to getting help for it.
Good luck.

Is it just anxiety? Better consult your doctor. Some other illness has to be ruled out. Your lifestyle might be stressful which might be adding to what you are feeling. See a family physician first. Avoid too much of coffee and softdrinks it might add up to what you are feeling, the heart races, it is called palpitation. Usually we dont hear our heartbeat unless we are excited or anxious.
First learn to relax! Lifestyle modification is needed. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, smoking! Sleep at least 8 hours a day!

Don't feel alone. Lots of people experience anxiety from time to time. I
don't know if you need medicine. I don't like to take anything but I can't
possibly know what is best for you. Meditation helps me. I also avoid
situations that cause my stress. This may not be the best approach for
you but it works for me. I also have great people in my life that I can talk
too. Hope you do too. Go see your doc. He will have advice.
