I live in the Dallas Fort Worth area, and I need to stay for at least one night. Also are there any drawbacks to this?

There's a number of different services where you can be an air courier (one link is below). They all operate a little differently but in general... you pay a reduced fee for your air travel; you do not get an assigned flight or seat until they have something for you to transport. You usually are given a 24- to 48-hour window when you're expected to kind of hang out at your departing airport waiting for them to activate you. You give up some or all of your checked baggage allowance and take their item instead. Coming back it works the same way.

Pros: cheap, cheap travel!

Con's: long long waits in the airport plus you don't always get to pick and choose your departure and destination. For example, you may fly out of DFW but fly back into Love Feild or even Austin depending on where the courier company needs you to go. Also you might not get a flight back as quickly as you would like; it all depends on what the courier customers are doing.

Basically if you can travel light (everything in your carry-on) and have a very flexible time frame, you can see a lot of the world for pretty cheap. But if you need set dates to leave and return, or hate long waits in the airport (you might be camped out for a day and a half there), it might not be for you.
