My 13 year old son was browsing through his email last year and there was an unsolicited email from monster.com. My son opened a link on the email and it took him to their website and to his fright there was a picture of a frightening green monster which I believe is their mascot and my son had a panic attack and couldnt sleep for weeks because of the image of this horrible monster on monster.com's site.

My son has been through many therapy and rehabilitation and he has barely improved. he dropped out of school and is not social anymore. He tells me he;s afraid of the green monster and that it has destroyed his life and he fears it will one day eat him

I believe monster.com SHOULD be liable for this distress and pain brought to my son. the email was unsolicited and my son is not the same. what legal recourse do I have. I am lost right about now

1. Talk to youre son about how monsters arent real and dont let him watch horror movies, does he have problems? maybe you should have him tested for shock or halucinations it is normal if someone hasnt been social.

2. SUE!!! Monster.com deserves it!!!

You can sue andybody for anything. Whether or not the judge throws out the case in another strory.
The green monster is the worst thing you son has ever seen?
Thats a stretch and a half.
I have been involved in a real life lawsuit before. A very legitmate case, which I settled out of court.
But in every case people have thoughts as to whether somebody is pulling a scam or is just plain goofy.
You fall in the latter category. Look in your mirror and after you stop laughing, or crying, tell yourself how absurd you sound.
I know you are using Yahoo Answers as a sounding board to see what people think and if your case has "legs".
I would be shocked if you can find an attorney to take this case.
Good luck.

What does that could desire to do with the banks, wall highway, housing disaster and so on... Are you asserting Bush ought to have started shelling out trillions for bailouts years in the past???? that would have long gone over like a lead balloon... the two way you slice it obama is spending trillions of greenbacks that we've not got. long term impacts are no longer being considered. it is a non everlasting restoration via fact this money won't final perpetually and then what.. we could desire to pay it back. and how do you think of it is gonna take place.. difficulty-loose experience is obviously no longer getting used in any respect.. living previous our potential has brought about this mess so please clarify to me how living even extra previous our potential is going to remedy the subject.. I continually concept living interior a funds you are able to have the money for replaced into the main rational.. Boy i assume i replaced into incorrect i assume i'll max out all my credit enjoying cards and purchase that new motor vehicle i understand i won't be able to have the money for. That sounds lots smarter..

You can sue anyone you want for anything you want, however, for a 13 year old boy to be traumatized by a cartoon inanimate logo is not reasonable and there is something else going on there that he isn't talking about. I doubt you would win the case because a 13 year old boy would have to be developmentally disabled for that to happen in which case, he should not be surfing the computer without adult supervision,

Are you serious? You can actually sue them for this. You can sue anyone for anything. But the Judge would and rightly should toss it out and fine you for wasting the court's time. If I was the judge and this came accross my desk I would toss you in jail for a week.
