12 sons of jacob
12 tribes of israel
12 golden dishes
12 judges
12 baskets of bread,
12 Apostles
12 stars on the woman’s head,
12 gates and foundations of new Jerusalem.
Twice 12 is the number of the heavenly elders;
12 fruits of the tree of life
12 apostles of “the Lamb”

what's with the number 12?

it sounds rehearsed or plagiarised from pagan religions doesnt it?

someone should write a book entitled: "the evolution of the church"

Four Gospels-----there was supposed to be more than 4(conspired)
Four calling birds(song)

4 seasons are just reduced to 4 when in fact there is no black and white area when it comes to the transition between them. they could easily have been 20 seasons.

point is that, all these things are man made. just like how they "man made" the bible to revolve around the holy pagan numbers. pagans came first before the bible.

I doesn't sound pagan to me, but it's just the kind of sophomoric pseudo-intellectual "point" people flock to thinking they're on to something.

Four Gospels?
Four compass points?
Four suits in a deck of cards?
Four calling birds?

Coincidence???
or CONSPIRACY!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?

Four seasons?
For-nication?

Huh? Huh? What about that???????

Edit:

Don't know sarcasm when you see it, eh?

All joking aside, the Bible was written to mankind in mankind's language in a way mankind could understand. Would it seem more divinely inspired if it was completely out of our ability to relate to or comprehend? God wanted us to be able to understand and remember His word, but the true test is where it takes us. Once it has brought us to Him, what difference does it make how many time the number 12 was used?

Once you've been touched by God, proofs and dis-proofs, numbers and words, aren't that big a deal.

Edited again:

I agree. We're really not gettin' anywhere...lol!

Oh Boy.
12 is the number of government or ruling authority in the Bible. There is a lot more then just numbers.

GOD bless you

actually it's based on the number 3. 3 x 4 = 12. christianity is based in 3s. the holy trinity and that whole thing.

Or maybe pagan religions plagiarized the real thing?

EDIT: I'm not saying that the pagan have truth, no not at all I'm saying that truth is eternal and immutable there fore if people once knew the truth, but then turned away why wouldn't there be reflections of the truth in the pagan religions? Things that were lost or forgotten and the corrupted. Cause that's all a lie is truth corrupted.
