Most cities or towns have noise ordinances...yes
BUT BEFORE yougo calling the cops.. I would seriously talk to the dog owners...
Frankly.. if you go calling the police of the neighbors you best be prepared to NEVER ever do anything wrong as long as you live there or ever make any noise yourself... as they will be gunning for you...
So talk tot hem first and explain you need to get some sleep...
If that does not work.. then call the police .. they wil give the owners a warning and then a citation if it goes on again after that..
Just dont expect t hem to be very nice after that.
Good Luck.. Glad its not me!

Different cities and towns have different noise laws. If you live in an area where there is a no noise law after a certain time, then yes, their dog is covered under that.
I am a dog breeder and lover, but I can understand the frustration.
You can call the non-emergency police and make a noise complaint. If you do this a few nights in a row (when the dog is noisy) they will start to take notice, and the cops will be the ones to let the neighbors know if you dont feel comfortable confronting them yourself. If the dog continues to be noisy, and the neighbors do nothing, they will be fined for the noise--thus getting them to be more active in doing something about it.

Speak to your neighbors first and see if something can be worked out. After owning a dog for awhile that likes to bark most owners learn how to tune it out and they may not realize how annoying it is.
Also noise ordinances depend on the zoning if in a residential or city area I am sure there would be something on the books for a 10pm weekday law...... but if zoned rural agricultural good luck if you need the police as a last resort since this zoning has very few restrictions. Most r/1 zoning has only restrictions on types of livestock that you can raise.

First of all I would bring it up to the owner's attention. Tell him/her that if he/she can't make the dog shut up then you're going to have to get the police involved. Tell him/her that you want this to be a last resort solution but the problem warrents it if nothing is done. Make sure you say it in a soothing and almost sad voice as if it pains you to create striffe between you and him/her.
If he/she doesn't do anything about it then call the police. A barking dog is considered a noise violation in most cities.

Yes, I agree with the others, you must, albeit politely, tell your neighbour. What is the dog barking at, at this hour? Can you suggest to your neighbour that you are concerned about what it is barking at (this way you won't be complaining) and you need to come up with some kind of solution to help your neighbour, they may be fully aware that dog is barking, but are unable to come up with a solution. Perhaps locking it in the laundry to sleep, could be one consideration. Good luck, or should that be goodnight?

you can always buy an dog silencer box. I've seen them somewhere that you set it up facing his dog and everytime the dog barks, it emits a high pitch sound that is annoying to the dog. The dog should eventually give up his barking.

dogs to that it is in thier nature----talk to your neighbors first----see if they can bring the dog inside at night----otherwise not trying to be mean but buy a pair of earplugs------dogs bark you can't change that. But a dog is like part of the family to some people too. So i would talk to the owners first.
sorry
