THis is what I did:

Curl hair
When you take your your hair, brush through it with your fingers or a wide toothed comb
Finish up with a curler (eletric one....o i forgot what they are called....they are like straighteners but they curl your hair? I think its......curling iron? not to sure... :]])

I use a curling iron that has a 1 1/2 inch barrell. It gives the soft curled look. I just curl the ends about halfway up the strand of hair. This is alot quicker, and still looks pretty. I also spray the strand with hairstray, just a quick spritz, before I curl.

straighten your hair, then take a curling iron and curl your hair in large parted sections. i usually do this the night before so that the curls have time to relax. then in the morning i take the large velcro rollers and put them on the top for a little while, to give it volume. This is what works for me.

The rollers I use are Caruso Steam Rollers - they are spongy-type rollers that expand with steam and you put them in your hair...they work really well and when I use to Large and Medium rollers I get nice soft curls. They are awesome!

Apply the rollers only at the ends or roll your hair half way up. Use bigger rollers for bigger and looser curls.

The bigger the curler the looser curl. Use larger curlers.
