They justify everything with the Bible. That's because they are morally lazy. If they can't point to something in the Bible to back up their stance, which isn't too difficult for any stance, they have a hard time actually using reason, logic, and facts to explain their position. They only feel comfortable pointing to a book and saying, "God said so".

The main reason Christians justify hatred toward homosexuals is because God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. Many Christians believe that this gives them the right to show hatred. This is a sad site to behold.
There are two commandments every christian should live by. The First and most important - Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. The Second - Love your neighbor as yourself.
We should, like God, hate the sin, not the sinner.
I will in no way condone the act as even the bible calls it an act of perversion. The reason Christians hate is because they are not responding in the way Christ would have wanted them.

The Holy Bible does not justify hatred against homosexuals or any other people, for that matter. Through the Bible, on the contrary, God teaches us to love our neighbours/fellows. God also teaches against homosexuality, but not as a pretext for hatred, but for the purpose of drawing people near to God. It should be noted that wherever homosexuality is mentioned, other sins, common among the majority, are mentioned too. Probably even in Sodom heterosexual promiscuity was as common as homosexuality.

I surely have nothing against letting people (gay and other) live their lives, since apparently the bugging presence of misdirected preaching in their lives is not doing anyone any good. This is not how Christianity was spread in Antiquity. It was through the positive example of brotherly love and meek confession of Christ that the decadent practitioners of all sort of depravity (see above) wanted to become Christians and to partake of God's grace. It was not through hatred, insults or even annoyance.

With God's help, I hope this expresses clearly the truly Christian attitude towards homosexuality.

The bible doesn't support hatred of homosexuality, but it set out a path for living, the way life was intended to be lived. Homosexuality is just a messed up sexual desire. To say it is okay is leading down a very dangerous path. Children were designed to have to be raised with a mother to show them tender love and a father to make them feel protected. It is why nature has set it up that it must be a man and a woman, and not two women or two men, to make a child. Homosexuality causes us to lose our family structure, and without that our society starts to break down.

There is no reason to hate homosexuals, because they are just confused but it also is not a good idea to accept that.

The Bible cannot be used to justify hatred.

Common sense and natural law makes it clear that homosexuality is bad for the individual, for society, and for the future of civilization.

It might be more fair to ask why so many persons who display hatred have an appeal to the Bible as part of their defense. The assumption most religious people hate homosexuals is, in my opinion, rather prejudicial.

I am a heterosexual Christian woman and I have to agree with you...kinda. People do tend to use the Bible to justify a hatred for gay people. Let me clarify. Do I think homosexuality is a sin? Yes, the Bible clearly states that it is, but so are lying, cheating, adultery, premarital sex, gluttony, and many other things. God does not judge sin on a curve. All sins are equal (except for blasphemy of the Holy Spirit which is unforgivable). We should all love everyone and be praying for everyone to turn from their sins...all sins.

I don't think that you really want to understand the Christian point of view, but I will give it anyway.. It is like any other sin and if we permit it then it will have serious effects on our lives and our society.
It is an abomination before God and if we want his blessings we are not supposed to approve of it, just like adultery, fornication, robbery, lying ect. Homosexuality is a perversion of the family of a man and woman and having children. The family is the basis of our whole society and if that fails then the whole society and country will eventually fail. Maybe you don't agree, but that is the christian view.

well, some Christians used to justify slavery, racism, sexism, and many other things with the bible. This just happens to be the new cause....

Cause they got nothing else. They fall back on the bible like a tired old crutch. They are just scared insignificant people who need a higher power and the fear of it to make them behave
