What are you doing prior to the chest pain? Some activities might aggravate what you are feeling!
Usually when our chest aches, majority will associate it with heart problems. Myocardial infarction or heart attack usually presents with chest pain describe as heaviness felt associated with pain radiating or spreading over the left arm, left jaw! ECG or electrocardiography should be done! There are leads being placed in the chest to determine if your heart rate is normal , whether the rhythm of your heart is normal, whether your heart is enlarged. Nitrates are usually given by doctors.
There are also other causes of pain associated with repetitive activities like typing, mopping, washing clothes by hand, ironing clothes, or other activities which would include lifting and carrying heavy things. This is usually associated with tenderness over the chest once the doctor press on the chest. This cases are called Costochondtritis, meaning there are muscle which are inflammed and causing the pain. Pain relievers usually are given for these cases.
There are also chest pains felt once you had a heated argument with somebody and you feel difficulty in breathing! This is called Neurocirculatory asthenia.
For chest pains, it is important that heart problems be ruled out. Age is not already a factor to consider. Heart attack is not only for the elderly , some younger generations have it too.
Do not take medications without the doctor's advice. Anxiety can also cause these pains. If you had consulted, always follow up with your doctor if it is not improving. If there are questions, not clear to your mind, ask your doctor.

You don't want to mask chest pain.
Don't take no for an answer from one ER. Get an appointment with a cardiologist. Some ER docs will dismiss a youngish woman as not having heart issues (although that's slowly changing)
Unless you have heartburn, which CAN seem like chest pain in some, you've got to get it checked out ASAP.

None. What is causing the chest pain? This could be anything from gas, to indigestion, to a hernia to a heart attack and no one here can diagnose chest pain for you. It needs immediate attention if it's not been diagnosed. Seek medical attention unless you can provide more information.
