Many religions worship Goddesses. Look up the Roman Moon Goddess Cybill and find her Arabic name and a picture of her Idol.

In ancient times (2000 B.C.-1000B.C.) women have equal status to men in all terms. As she was taken to be oiginator of life, she was given special status in life, hence the concept of mother goddess.
Cow was taken to be sacred as it was a "Giver' i.e. milk which was part of daily diet. Her urine has medicinal properties. Her faces (Gobar), mixed with clay is,still being used to cover the outer walls / floor of mud houses in villages. It has anti-becterial properties.
As in ancient times, the nature's phenomenons i.e. rains, thundershower, floods, lightening, Sun, Fire etc. could not be explained, they were taken to be due to supernatural powers hence personified and worshipped.

If god has to be creator, then the person should be feminine. only the female species can give birth. so she is creator. males have not given birth to any one in the known history. All religions will definitely agree on that point. So GOD is a MOTHER, not father. since it is feminine, we call her GODESS. for a child mother is everything. hindus regard land as godess/mother. all wealth in those ancient times came from mother earth. hindus are right. mother earth gives them their daily bread. she gives them fruits, vegetables, wheat, rice.
Cow is such a lovely animal. look at her eyes. i dont think any animal has that kind of glitter which cow has and its eyes are more feminine. We milk the cow. Milk is a nutritious food. expecially for kids. Byproducts of milk are various. so cow is worshipped, protected just as you would take care of your mother.
Nature is also compared to godess/mother. We call it mother nature. nature consists of everything on this earth. even good and bad also. she has given to mankind all that they want, she also knows how to punish us when we cross limits. mothes's duty is to provide her children her daily nourishment, take care of them and show them the right way. when we choose the wrong way, she has no way, but to teach us a lesson or two.
knowledge - every child born learn his/her first lesson from the mother.
Mother plays an important role in the family/society. only a civilized society accepts women as godess, respects her & have the courage to learn from her.
As for hindus there is nothing called hell. HIndus call it Yamalok, abode of a benevolent king, Yamaraj. Yamaraj is assisted by Chitragupta, his accountant. He keeps track of the tenure of each living being, his good/bad deeds. Upon one's death, he is presented before Yamaraj, Chitragupta reads out the dead persons deeds in the world. Yamaraj prescirbes appropriate remedial measures for each person and according to his deeds. He will teach you the right path, reform and send you back - one can choose to go back to earth for another life or go back to join god. If you are not righteous in you life, you can be reformed. Punishment is not a solution. Yamaraj know that very well.
I would like to ask this questioner one simple question. How would you treat your mother, wife, sister or daughter - women / godess OR as a prostitute / whore? i presume that you are a christian/muslim, because only christians/musilms believe in hell. a permanent hell and status granted to women by bible/quran is of the lowest. just because Eve asked adam to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge.
