Great question!
Good fat is like your omega family like Omega 3, and 6. In todays diet we get to much omega 6. Its in all our baked goods and not enough 3 (fish, almonds, ex.) want to hear something cool, and kind of on the subject. You can eat hemp seeds, which is omega 3 as well, just not as much as olive oil. Look into these. Your body doesnt make Omega 3 and 6 so you must get that from your food, we do however make 9 so your safe there,
Trans fat is the nasty and is hidden under other names. I strongely suggest you look these up. I tell my people to try and get as Omega 3 supplements that they will feel a lot better.

I presume that we are not describing rancid fats or used frying fats as bad fats. The most common usage would relate to a fat's effect on serum cholesterol levels where bad fats raise serum cholesterol levels and good fats lower the cholesterol level. According to this criterion most animal fats ( lard, tallow, butter) are bad and common knowledge has vegetable oils as good. However, partially hydrogenated are just as bad as animal fats in causing elevation in cholesterol levels. The recent publicity given to trans fats gives us another category of bad fats.

The omega fats are good for you. They are found in fish. Other fats need to be limited.
