My favorite is Port Orleans French Quarter. It is moderately priced and small. The pool is great, with a dragon water slide. There is boat transportation to Downtown Disney, which is much nicer than the bus ride. You can rent little boats right at the hotel. Boatwrights restaurant (located at Port Orleans Riverside) is about a 5-10 minute walk from the French Quarter and has the best breakfast in all of Disney World. You have access to all the amenities of 2 hotels, because Port Orleans is the only hotel on Disney property that is actually 2 seperate hotels. It is divided into French Quarter- small, quiet, relatively compact, great cafe and awesome themeing; and Riverside- also nice, but much much bigger and set up for families as many of the rooms here sleep 5. Stay at the French Quarter for peace and tranquility- then stroll over to Riverside for sit down dining and more amenities. One thing to consider is that both Port Orleans hotels share the same bus during slower times of the year. This means that there are 6 bus stops on the Port Orleans route. One night after leaving Epcot, we were faced with a line of over 200 people waiting to get on the bus- it looked unbearable. To Disneys credit though, they had the busses for Port Orleans coming in so fast at closing that we had already boarded a bus after waiting in this monsterous line, while the 15-20 people in line for another hotel next to us were still waiting for a single bus to come for them- so don't let the bus lines scare you. The only annoying part is the 6 stops that the bus makes. Ask for building five, non water view- you will get a room out of the main traffic flow, yet close to the pool, bus stop, cafe and boat launch. Have fun.... I'm jealous.

I've stayed both on and off Disney property, and on is definitely the best way to go. I personally like the Yacht/Beach Club/Swan/Dolphin area. The Boardwalk is also around that area. It's a 5-10 minute walk to Epcot, and from there you can hit the monorail/buses/whatever. This last trip I stayed at the Contemporary. It was nice, with GREAT views of the Magic Kingdom, only 5 minutes walk to the MK, and just a short elevator/escalator ride to the monorail. And you can hardly hear the monorail. We were on the 8th floor, and the monorail is on 4/5, and I thought for sure it'd wake me up, but it didn't. As far as pricing, the All-Star Resorts and the Pop Century are your best bet. I've personally never stayed at any of these, but I have friends who have and have no complaints. I'm going to suggest that even though you're flying, rent a car. It makes it nice for the MGM/Animal Kingdom days. It's kind of a pain to wait for the buses, and if you're staying on property you get a parking pass for all the parks.

Ok i've been there over 7 occasions. I recognise the park just like the again of my hand and had made a idiot evidence method to having a laugh there. -Parks fp= speedy cross a million. MGM Studios- Rockin curler coaster, Tower of terror, and that i put out of your mind the opposite stuff sorry. two. Epcot- Soarin (fp), Test Track (fp), Mission Space, and extra. three. Magic Kingdom- Carousel of Progress, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain (fp), Haunted House ( Has a rather brief wait), Pirates of the Carribean, and far more. four. Animal Kingdom- Kiliminjaro Safari (fp), Dinosaur, Expedition Everest ( while i went on it the wait gave the impression shorter than it honestly used to be), and once more: there's alot extra. Side Attractions- Disney Quest Typhoon Lagoon Blizzard Beach ................Dont spend an excessive amount of time in water parks, it takes the thrill out of the shuttle. And many extra For extra data, at your resort while you move the the resort channel at the television. There is a video of the have got to see sights there. If it is your first time there i reccomend the eating plan. At the parks take a while out to peer parades and get a churro. : ) On the primary day, should you wish, despite the fact that it could take time, journey the monorail across the entire motel to peer the whole thing Disney has to present. I additionally reccomend making an attempt the cruise too. It is first-rate.

I agree with those who suggested Disney's Polynesian Resort. I always recommend Disney's Polynesian Resort. It opened the day the day the Magic Kingdom Park opened, along with Disney's Contemporary Resort. Something I learned recently is that it has the highest return rate of any of the Disney Resorts, so that means many others love it and agree it's the best. Since we've stayed at the Polynesian Resort, we've had no desire to stay at any of the others. I just know they won't compare. The Resort itself is absolutely gorgeous. There's tropical plants and flowers all over, as well as ponds, waterfalls, and fountains. The lobby has a miniature rainforest in the middle, it's really cool. There's three shops in the Resort's lobby- Boutiki, Trader Jack's, and Samoa Snacks. There's also three restaurants at the Resort- Captain Cook's, 'Ohana, and the Kona Cafe. There's also the Tambu Lounge for drinks and appetizers. Captain Cook's is just a typical quick-service Disney restaurant. You can buy burgers, individual pizzas, chicken tenders, etc. In the morning there's breakfast items, and there's also dessert items. It's open 24 hours. 'Ohana is great and quite popular. They serve breakfast and dinner family-style, and it's all-you-care-to-eat. The Kona Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants at Walt Disney World. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, regular table service style. It's a beautiful open restaurant on the second floor of the lobby. There's really cool, decorative light fixtures and fans. There's a great dessert bar, too, with a chocolate statue of Lilo & Stitch. The food at this restaurant is so good, we always eat here at least twice on our vacations. The restaurant is famous for its Tonga Toast. It's like French toast stuffed with bananas, tossed in cinnamon sugar. It's awesome! I don't even like bananas, and I liked it. At lunch or dinner, for an appetizer, I always have to have the pan-seared duck pot stickers. They are so delicious! So good, sometimes I order them from Room Service, too. Oh, and then there's the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show (the Polynesian Luau.) An all-you-care-to-eat-meal hosted by Aunt Wini at Luau Cove. Anyway... there's also an art gallery in the lobby, Wyland Galleries. For kids, there's the Neverland Club (CLUB, not Ranch.) The laundry facilities have been remodeled recently. There's plenty of washers and dryers, and a little sitting room with a TV and vending machine. There's a marina with boat rentals, and you can go on guided fishing excursions. There's two awesome pools- the volcano pool with a zero-depth entry, a waterslide, and restrooms right in the volcano, and then there's the "quiet" pool. It's not always quiet, but it's nice. I find it to be a little warmer than the volcano pool. It's big and circular. There's also a couple of beaches with hammocks. They're really nice, and great locations to watch the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom and the Electrical Water Pageant on the Seven Seas Lagoon. There's no health club/spa, but all Polynesian Guests have access to Disney's Grand Floridian Spa, which is only a short walk away. One of the best things about the Polynesian Resort is the transportation options. You can take a shuttle busto any of the parks and Downtown Disney, or take a boat to the Magic Kingdom. You can also take the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom, the Grand Floridian Resort, and the Contemporary Resort. The Monorail comes right to the second floor of the lobby. There's a walkway to the Transportation and Ticket Center where you can get on the Monorail to Epcot, and there's another walkway to the Grand Floridian Resort. Another great thing about the Polynesian is that all the rooms are being renovated (most of them are already done.) They're beautiful, and there's mini fridges and flat-screen plasma TVs, now. I love the bathrooms, they're so pretty! This Resort is great for couples, families, or even people staying solo. Everyone enjoys it. If you were to choose this Resort, here are suggestions for specific room requests- room number 1516 in the Hawaii Concierge Longhouse and room number 1221 in the Aotearoa Longhouse. Both have views of the Seven Seas Lagoon and Cinderella Castle, but the view from 1516 also includes Space Mountain and the two nearby Resorts. It's really gorgeous and well-worth the money. I also love the staff at this Resort. One morning we woke up and there was a couple cigarette butts on our patio from the people in the room above us. I just threw them away thinking it wouldn't happen again. The next morning there were 12 cigarette butts! I went down to the Concierge desk and told them about it. They didn't put anyone else in the room above us for the remainder of our stay, and we had no further problems.

I guaratee your family will LOVE this Resort. It's so incredibly gorgeous, and the all the transportation options makes it easier to get to the parks or other resorts.

Here's a link with a fact sheet for Disney's Polynesian Resort, and another link with all kinds of pictures of the Resort...

There are so many choices that it's difficult to answer your question. Disney has hotels in all price ranges; I recommend their website as a good way to compare hotels in your price range. There are also LOTS of hotels in Orlando off the Disney property that offer good value if you have transportation to the park.

If money is no object, and you want to stay at a Disney property, I recommend the Polynesian Resort.

My favorite Disney Hotels are the Polynesian and the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Both have such amazing architecture, scenery, and dining/shopping experiences. However, both of these resorts are very expensive. My favorite Disney Resort is the moderately-priced section is the Coronado Springs Hotel. It has an awesome pool, a great theme, and fun restaurants.
