One pound of shelled pecans equals 4 to 4-1/2 cups pecan halves or 3 to 3 3/4 cups chopped pecans.

Hope this helps!!

Don't know about pecans, but a pound of shelled, roasted almonds is 3 cups.

That could vary by the type of pecan (papershell vs. native) the freshness of the nuts, whether they are intact or chopped... If you buy a pound, I'd say you have at least 2 cups of nuts in the bag
