often, it is because they are raised together, or one will imprint with the other when they are young. it also depends on the temerment of the animal..though cats are usually more difficult than dogs

It all comes down to personality and what they have been exposed to. Some cats and dogs live together for years in the same house and never get along, just learn to live with each other. Usually a kitten or puppy growing up learn to get along and accept the other species more easily.

because usually u have a dog and a cat there pets my cat used to hate my dog but and when it got a haircut my cat thought it was a new dog stupid cat but after a while they have to get along

Have you ever seen other animals get along that never met before?I've seen it.Some just do and some don't.We've had animals that never knew each other and got a long.One may feel uncomfortable with the other because they were chased,so their feeling uncertain of the other animal.

Most will, but a dog with a strong prey drive will not give up but you only see this in dosg that are not as domestic exotics etc..

personally i think animals mimick their masters, if they are trained to get along with others, they are like kids they go the way they are taught
