No doubt about it: He's teething!! He's getting some back teeth.
Give him frozen bagels , but watch him while he eats them because of his age. The frozen bagel help soothe his gums and provides a little nutrition too.

Both of my kids pulled on their ears all the time. It was a comfort thing for them, kind of like the way some kids suck their thumbs.

They also never ran fevers with ear infections.

When they were babies, I could guess that they had ear infections because they would refuse to nurse. It hurt to suck, I guess?

But as toddlers, I could only note that they'd been extra cranky, and run them in to the pediatrician when it was intolerable.

Teething, though, can produce a lot of the same symptoms.

And either way, the treatment is the same (since they're not supposed to automatically treat ear infections with antibiotics anymore): just give Motrin, and see what happens.

First things first, Is he in any pain at all? You should add details and i can help you a little more. He is probably just teething, but it could be somthing as bad as a brain tumor. Ask him if it feels like water in his ears. Don't be worried about that yet, but I know that it could be this because my four year old niece was complaining tht her ears hurt and "had water in them". The doctors sen't us home with a pain medicine and no luck. I told my sister to take her to the hospital, but she didn't think of it as that bad. A few weeks later, she started throwing up and losing control of her eyesight and muscles. When she finally got to the hospital, they found a quarter sized brain tumor. Luckily, they removed it with only slight complications. I don't want to give you my life story, It's probably just teething. Hope I didn't freak you out too much!

it ought to okay be. you need to get ear cleansing answer out of your vet. you need to scrub your canines ears oftentimes. i take advantage of makeup removing pads and stand at the back of the canines to scrub her ears to have the potential to get into the canal (it is going style of right away down). you will could desire to have somebody carry the canines for the 1st few cases you sparkling her ears, or possibly continually. some canines do no longer recommendations it and others are unfavorable with it. in case you do no longer experience gentle with doing this, you are able to take the canines to a groomer. (even though it is not that perplexing) If the canines has an infection the gunk would be black and gross smelling. you will then want medicated drops. solid luck!

i would get a second opinion, does your child have fevers or pain? Maybe he just likes his ears. But if he has fever or cries when he pulls his ears get another Dr to check them out. Good Luck!

Teething or some other kind of distress. My daughter yanks on her ears when she's teething. She happens to bew the same age too. See if he'l eat a popsicle or let you give him some teething gel. If you notice he tugs on his ears and gets a little cranky around nap or bed time, don't hesistate to give him some motrin or tylenol (infant of course). It's perfectly find to make him comfortable.

his teeth. My son does the same thing. It's his teeth. Also make sure his hair isn't bugging his ears as well. I took my son to the dr. about an ear infection and she said it was probably just his teeth and it was..

My daughter is 15 months old and she rubs he ears when she's tired or bored. It might just be a habit, like thumb sucking or maybe his hair is tickling his ears. If he's not hurting himself, just ignore it. He'll outgrow it, my older kids did. If his hair is the problem, just have it cut above his ears. I'm sure he'll be fine.

He may be cutting molars (my daughter is his exact age and she's cutting them), or he just wants to mess with is ears. If he doesn't act like he's in pain, then I wouldn't worry about it. If he's fussy, then Children's Motrin rocks.
