I'm responsible, have a good job,
And other than my drinking, I practise good nutrition.

Why do people look down on me for drinking 8-9 beers every night, and 12-15 on the weekends.
It's not their liver, why should they care.

Damn bro...
8-9 is quite a bit. Well simple put, that amount of alcohol is actual poision to your body. People look down on it b/c there is long term medical data showing that alcohol in heavy quantities is not in any way helpful to you.

If your talking a reg beer were looking at 12 fl oz's.
12fl oz x9= 108 fl oz per night----x 5 nights =540 oz
12fl oz x30 (15 each nigh tx 2 for weekend)=360 fl oz's

900 Fluid oz's a week...

The biggest issue is that your (in an alarming rate) poisioning yourself and will have major medical conditions because of this habit. The 2nd issue here is that in american it is stilll not widely acceptible to drink heavily, remeber we are founded on chrisitian idealistic ideas and its engrained in us.

They look down at you because they see harmful excessive activity as ridiculous and unnecessary. I mean we all went to college and have had the year of binge drinking all weekend...but even 2 days a week is too much. Your rolling all week long without a break, no time for the body to recover and dispell the poisions.

Look at it like this, at least they care enough to be distraught over it, instead of eggin you on, or forgetting about you althogether.

Look, even the most dim witted person would know that drinking a toxin everyday will have a bad outcome. Alcohol is a Toxin. It is Poison. People get drunk after drinking for a while yeah? Do you know why? Because Alcohol is putting braincells, that would otherwise keep all your senses working, to sleep. Now, if you keep putting these cells to sleep, they die. Drinking an alcoholic beverage everyday is a surefire way to poison yourself to death. The only reason Alcohol is legal in the majority of the world is because the governments tax it and reap huge revenue from the sale of it. Make no mistake, It's bad for you.

Its just a little over bored..I Like to drink, In fact I probably Drink 4 nights out of seven. But I keep it to a minimal, and it doesn't effect my job or my social life. Just be careful!! You might want to slowly cut down the amount you drink in a night, it could in the long run start to effect you job and your life and for sure your liver!! But no one said you can't have a good time!! Just be safe!!

CHEERS!

I drink about a glass and a half of wine every night. This is not regular for me but I'm going through stuff and it helps to relax me at the end of the day. Now if you are drinking to get drunk I'm surprised your morning afters aren't hard. Let's just hope you don't have a problem. I think that is what most people are concerned about.

It's always the same thing you here from people who get drunk just smelling a beer cap. There story always the same if you drink your going to die a horrible death. I know a lot of people who drink everyday an have a long full life(late70's to 80's). I think most people who can't drink have health problems so they can't drink, so they think know 1 should drink! The tea sipper I have known are dead. I do think that those who are whiskey drunks are killing them self's as for us beer drinkers keep popping tops & DON'T DRIVE!!! so those who look down on you are JEALOUS for the most part cause they can't!

Personally, I don't care. But apparently someone does, or you wouldn't be asking the question. And I'll bet it's someone who really loves and cares for you a lot. You've already said that it's "your" liver, which means you know it's very hard on it to drink that much. And you have to know that drinking that amount, with that frequency, is bound to have a devastating long-term effect. But you don't care. Not to mention the short-term effects of you being pretty intoxicated every evening and every weekend. That has to cut pretty deeply into the amount that someone can rely on you for good judgement (not to mention good company). But you don't care about these things either.
You're right "why should they care", after all, you don't.
But here's the kicker - they care about you because they love you, and the fact that you don't care about yourself, don't love yourself enough to not do these things, really reflects on whether you care about and love them too.

As a member of society, your failure is somehow putting a drain on the rest of us. Of course people have an interest in stopping you from ruining your health.

That being said, it is true that you drink too much. You should really consider cutting it down to a minimum; some studies have shown that one drink a day has some health benefits, but don't go more than that unless it's a rare occasion.

As someone who enjoys a drink as much as the next guy, that sounds like a lot. That being said, it should not be a problem as long as it does not impact other areas of your life.

I used to drink like that. Some friends found me cool. Others looked down at me. My family is into drinking moderately but they frowned upon me too. I think people look down on you just like they would look down on anyone who is being self destuctive. Like a coke head, someone who cuts themself, or anything like that.
I find when I cut my drinking back to just weekends I feel better about myself.
