AND, if it is the entire universe and stars are BILLIONS of light years away from earth. could he have already started the destruction on the edges of the universe and it just hasn't gotten to us yet?

Sorry, we don't get out of here till the last amoeba attains enlightenment.

Judging from the answers some of the so-called chosen people are giving this could take quite a while.

Contrary to popular belief God is not going to let us quit till everyone figures out the way to get back home.

The fantasy about hell is just a lie about God that was made up to give a few holier than thow's someone to feel better than. God loves us to much to let a single soul become lost.

love and blessings Don

It will be both the entire universe and the earth. In Revelation 21:1 says this: Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.

Heaven, Earth, and Space will all come to an end. Yet in the next age there will be no firmament, just Heaven and Earth. The waters of heaven and earth shall be no more thus nothing shall separate the heavens and the earth.

Revelation 21
1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea....23The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there.

According to the scriptures, there will be a thousand years of peace on earth after the great tribulation, so no, the destruction has not begun. There is also no reason for Him to destroy all of the universe, since it is just we humans on earth who have committed all of the sins. And God isn't bound by time and space so there is no need for Him to begin at the edge of the universe. He can take care of the entire universe instantly.

Interesting question. It is difficult to know just how literally we are meant to understand some of the visions. However it seems clear that there will be a new heaven and a new earth, in other words it seems that the entire universe will be renewed. Just how that happens, or whether it has begun somewhere, I don't know. We can only speculate.

To me, if there is a literal end to the earth...what the heck do I care. For all will be gone....I think it is figurally speaking. Certainly the concept of man as materiality will be forever changed and that could include the entire concept of time, space, world and universe.

The book of revelations is very specific. It's the entire universe. When the bible refers to the Earth, we're not sure whether it means planet earth or earth: where all living things live. It may be a general term but who knows?

Scripture refers to "heavens and earth" being destroyed. when you consider that heavens describes the actual universe, that could desire to be the respond... 2Peter 3:7 by way of GOD’S word THE HEAVENS AND EARTH OF right this moment ARE BEING RESERVED FOR fire. they're being stored for the day while God will choose. Then ungodly human beings would be DESTROYED. 8 expensive pals, this is one element you're able to be able to desire to no longer overlook. With the Lord an afternoon is nearly one thousand years. And one thousand years are like an afternoon. 9 The Lord isn't sluggish to maintain his promise. he's no longer sluggish in the way some human beings realize it. he's affected person with you. He doesn’t want all of us to be destroyed. rather, he needs anybody to tutor far off from their sins. 10 however the day of the Lord will come like a thief. THE HEAVENS WILL DISAPPEAR WITH A ROAR. fire WILL injury each and every thing IN THEM. God will choose the earth and each little thing in it. 11 So each and every thing would be DESTROYED. and how plenty human beings could desire to you be? you need to steer holy and godly lives. 12 stay like that as you look ahead to the day of God. it will make the day come extra without put off. ON THAT DAY fire WILL injury THE HEAVENS. ITS warmth WILL soften each and every thing IN THEM. word the repeated theory, "each and every thing would be DESTROYED." (Repetition shows and identifies an significant concept, so the EMPHASIS in this article is Peter's, no longer mine.) Peter tells us fairly it appears that evidently that no longer something would be "LEFT at the back of." this implies ANY interpretation of the "end circumstances" which has issues or human beings "left at the back of" can not be perfect.

The real end of time, as you call it, is so inconceivably far away, it is impossible to even imagine it. And the Earth is so insignificant in the grand scheme of things that it will be long gone before that happens. Our galaxy will disappear before that too.

I fail to see what the bible has to do with this. It's just a book written by men before we had the knowledge we have today.
