I was listening to the radio this morning and the VJ said something that I had never considered before. Many people say they support our troops, but if you don't vote wouldn't that be a disrespect to them? I was a little confused but he put it this way. "our soldiers are shedding blood for another country to have the right to vote. What are we telling our soldiers if we say we're too busy to vote ourselves. How important is demoracy to us if we dont get out there and vote?" Anyway, the website address above is where you can see if you are registered to vote. Who you vote for is no ones business, but isn't this guy right?

Yes, I think he has a point there... many people put themselves into a position where winning the war, and peace are top task on the list. Being Canadian I can see the.... propaganda, I guess is the word I'm looking for, on the American news stations. Its no wonder people are scared into supporting the troops even if they don't think that their vote counts. Yet like I said they think their vote doesn't count... so why vote? Well how many elections have you seen won by just a couple thousand votes? That's the margin of error in today's society. People are too stuck up with themselves to think that they can make a difference.

I agree. I can't stand it when people don't vote and then complain. I was on the planning commission in our small village and no one would show up, we were pushing to get sewer hook up and had many meetings (it was a 5 year project) OH my were people upset when it passed. Goes to show you need to vote local not just national, it effects your life. As always I think we should support those that are supporting us!

the greatest way to show your patriotism and your support of our troops is to go to the polls and cast you vote. when you think of people moaning over they are too busy to vote, yet the Iraq's risked their lives to vote. We piss and moan over rain or some other insignificant thing. It is just an excuse to be lazy. And, if you don't vote yet all you do is use your right to complain about how the country is being and not your right to vote. well you are stupid.

If it was the radio it was a DJ, not a VJ. I've completely lost all faith in our crappy two-party system. Who should I vote for? Corrupt career politician #1 or corrupt career politician #2? Hmmm, so many choices. I totally advocate armed rebellion, that is the only way we will ever have any kind of real change. This friggin' stagnant cesspool we call a government stinks so bad my eyes burn.

Oh yeah. And those who don't vote have no voice to complain. Think about it. Women were persecuted just for the chance to vote, and yet many of them dont. The same goes for blacks, why don't all of them vote? All Americans have fought and died for their right to vote (Revolutionary war, Civil Right movement) and yet now their decendents refuse to vote or just simply forget. Its far too important to overlook. If you don't vote, don't complain about the way things go! Good question!

I think he's right. I'm not sure who I'm going to vote for, but I'll for sure vote. First I will educate myself to the best of my ability on the candidates.

Yes he is and I agree with what he is saying. When people don't vote it doesn't make sense for them to moan and groan about how the country is being runned or on propositions, laws or policies.
