My son is two and a half and I would like to give him a chance to make friends or at least have more social interactions with kids his age. He always loves playing with other kids at the park and such but other than that he has no other kids to play with. I don't know if I should join a mommy and me class, start him in preschool or what. Does anyone know of a good place to get information on Preschools or other activities? I am Looking for somewhere in the Morgantown, WV area.

Some cities have magazines that list all kinds of activities and preschools. Otherwise, look for MOPS or MOMS groups, ask your friends, join a church, go to library story times, hang out at a local park playscape. You will meet other moms and kids that way.

Search the yellow pages online or in your phone book for pre-schools, head starts, and day cares in your area. Go visit each place, take a tour, ask questions, etc. Look for a place with bright colors, posters or pictures on the walls showing shapes, colors, alphabet, etc. Watch how the employees interact with the kids, watch how the kids there interact with each other, etc.

You could dial "211" on your telephone to be connected to the United Way. Ask the counselor to connect you with a service that recommends child care or preschools in your area. The 211 service is local, but it's offered nationwide.

I have the same problem with my little girl.
She is now 4 and is in pre-school. She just goes to the regular elementry school, they have 2 pre-school classes. You might want to contact your local elementry and find out if they have one. He probably won't be able to go till he is 4 though.
You could also try and find local "Mom's" that do pre-school out of their homes, but I was a bit to nervous to do that.

I just pretty much had to deal with her not having any friends till she got into school, it was hard, but she has turned out just fine and she loves school!

I honestly have worked for 3 years as a instructor's Aide to Pre-college babies. a great interest is one that works on their handbook dexterity. utilising manipulatives creates greater effective eye/hand coordination and instills a great volume of self-worth interior the baby. initiate with something minor like having the baby/babies place hand-sized blocks in a bucket basically to take them out lower back separately. flow on after some days to smaller products. finally the baby can initiate utilising plastic tweezers to flow dried beans into egg cartons. putting the beans one in each egg cellular and taking them out lower back putting them interior the unique field. Later you are able to mark the cells in numbers a million, 2, 3, and so on. the baby will then might desire to place the ideal volume of beans interior the cellular. stable success.
