My best friend and I have told each other that we love each other (after three years of being just friends, but secretly liking each other), but neither of us are allowed to date (we're both Christians. I'm 18, he's almost 18. We both respect our parents and wouldn't want to do anything blatantly disobedient to them). So, technically we are not dating, but when we are together (which we try to be a lot), we hold hands and hug and stuff like that....This is the first time either of us have been in any kind of relationship. Sometimes I feel guilty that we're keeping it from our parents, but then when I think about it, we're not really doing anything wrong. We're still best friends, we just feel a little more for each other. Is it wrong that I'm not telling my parents? I know that they would probably freak out if they knew...

look at your moral values and evaluate!
Do what you think is best. Dont ask people on the internet for moral values b/c they will brig you down.

Um, you're 18. Legally you're not a minor anymore, which means your parents have no business telling you that you can't date. If the argument is, "as long as you live in my house, you'll live by my rules," well, you can move out without their permission. Smart parents would start negotiating with their offspring at this point instead of dictating terms. I don't advocate rebellion against parents, but neither do I condone parental tyranny (this from a parent, btw).
