You will not starve. You will not instantly become thin. Fasting is consuming only liquids. When the body does not have to deal with digesting solid food and getting rid of the waste that solid food creates, it can concentrate on getting rid of toxins. The most common reason to fast is to eliminate disease or from the body.

How much weight will I lose?

The main benefit offered by a fast, to those who wish to lose weight, is the speed of the weight loss. To see a person drop 30-to-40 pounds in a 30-day juice fast is to see a person totally transform his life. Self-esteem is given a boost and for the first time in their life, discipline becomes a lifestyle. The fast becomes a catalyst for a total life overhaul. People start dressing better, showing more confidence, becoming more organized, more dedicated in relationships and more at peace.

Initially, weight loss can be as high as three-to-four pounds per day, but as the fast continues, the average loss will be one pound-per-day. If you are juice fasting and not losing weight, the juice is supplying all the calories you need. You may have to cut down on the juices or alternate between water fasting and juice fasting if losing weight is part of your goal. The slower your metabolism is the slower the weight loss.

Try to stay focused on the healthy things you are doing to improve your life rather than being consumed with the number of pounds lost each day. Water retention can vary your weight five pounds so watching the scale can be frustrating. The best motivation to fast is for physical and spiritual health. Be patient; the fasting process is slow. Be thankful the toxins are leaving your body. Do not have unrealistic expectations. Give your body the time it needs to do the work of cleansing.

Fasting And Metabolism

The fear is that while fasting, the metabolism will slow down and afterward there will be more weight gained than before the fast. Initially, any calorie reduction will cause a lowering in the BMR or base metabolic rate. Cleansing will bring health that will increase metabolic performance and energy output. In other words, you will eat less and feel more energetic.

After fasting, the body is more efficient. Digestion is better due to a cleaner colon. The colon walls have been cleansed of impacted feces, allowing improved absorption of nutrients. The good news is that greater efficiency equals enhanced energy. Healthy people burn more calories. They also eat less because they are more active and feel better about themselves. They don't need food as a security blanket.

The greatest impact you can have on increasing your resting metabolism is exercise. After a workout, you can be sitting on the couch reading while burning calories, as the muscles are grabbing glucose from the blood to replace glycogen supplies. The key to weight loss is fewer calories and more exercise. A diet high in raw food provides fewer, low-density calories, and higher-fiber, more-filling foods.

Oh, by the way, a slower metabolism diminishes aging. A tortoise can live to 400 hundred years of age.

Hard work. I don't know about fast but the best way is to work out and eat right. I was successful when i worked out five days a week and starting eating protein rich foods after the workout. My metabolism went up and i lost allot of body fat and gained about 20 pounds of muscle. Remember gaining muscle also means gaining weight. I also recommend stacker 3 it really curbs the appetite.

you need to exercise a lot and the right way. You would benefit from a trainer or someone that you know has been trained or exercises a lot to make sure you don't hurt yourself. Start slow and build up. In the meantime you need to eat a lot and eat right. Go to Nutrition Express website and look up muscle gain. You will find a lot of choices for nutritional drinks and supplements. Good luck.

Vinyassa Yoga. It's the most intense/relaxing/beneficial way to get in shape. Not only will you have the most incredible body in about 6 months doing it only a couple of times a week, but you'll also find that you start going when you're stressed to feel better that day. It's a very hip, very addicting thing to get into. I've done everything since I've was 19 years old. Weights, running, step, aerobics, water training, you name it, I've done it. Since I've started doing Yoga, I've lost 10 lbs without even trying to get in sahpe and my body is hotter than before I had a child. Awesome for guys, girls, and children 4 years to 140 years of age.

Exercise that pushes your heart rate closest to your targeted heart rate is the most suitable exercise to get rid of fat. You should exercise with sufficient intensity to raise your pulse rate, which in turn speeds up the fat loss process. The exercises that bring your heart rate close to your targeted heart rate will boost your metabolism, which will lead to fat loss.Besides, making you look better, weight loss offers hosts of other health benefits. When you reduce 10-15% of your weight, your chances of suffering from heart attack, diabetes as well as cholesterol levels go down. Hence if you are thinking of getting started, the best time to get started is now.Commitment is the most crucial factor to get any exercise program started.

i would not say dieting or fad diets but rather moderation in what you eat in your normal life. if you eat beef, swap it for chicken since it has less fat and is better for you or turkey too! moderation as well as a change in the way you live, eat, and work out! find healthy alternatives to the foods that you eat! i would have to say that sauces like alfredo and that sort are really fatening! so, switch to healthy snacks like sliced apples, etc. or the choice of your fruit! plus keep some in a ziploc bag after you work out since it levels your sugar level out! eat reduced fat peanut butter, fat free salad dressing or low fat yogurts! just making the smallest adjustment is a way to begin to lose weight! next, read the labels and know your caloric intake-either 2000 or 2500 cals/day and see the values of all in the back label of the food! i say to eat in moderation...like eat one cookie vs. 5! start taking the stairs and parking further away from the stores when you go shopping since you get some walking and every bit of walking counts! as for gaining muscle that is a 1, 2 punch! do cardio like elliptical and jogging on the treadmill or around your neighborhood and for the second part you need weights! do squats, lunges with squats as well as curls for your bi's and tri's., and bench dips.if you are not that familiar with some of the terms ask the staff working at the gym you attend to help you and they will be more than glad to! also, do not forget the abs! there is no fast way unless you eat minimal carbs or bread but i disagree with that since carbs are needed when working out by your body which will burn carbs caster than fats and proteins! t gain muscle it takes time and repetition! also, try working out twice a day with out over exhausting your body! do it before you go to work or school-run, jog or walk briskly! if you work out before dinner not only is your metabolism at its peak during that time but it also burns what you are eating-calorie wise! eat sbreakfast which really speeds up the metabolism, do not skip meals since you will rather lose muscle, and drink lots of fluids preferably water like 1-2 glasses before you have dinner! the water fills you up so you eat less! eat 5 small meals a day not 3 huge ones, as well as 3 snacks- healthy that is- try to get most of your carbs-breakfast and lunch - in by 1 pm at the latest, and do not have dinner after 6:30 pm or 7pm at the latest! try to work out 5-6 times a week and you will do fine! eat healthy: use extra virgin olive oil in cooking, wheat bread vs. white, eat veggies, salads and protein-lots of it in small amt. with every meal and drink lots of water and limit your intake of Powerade and Gatorade
