I like this guy at my school. He's 2 years younger than me. I know that, for some reason, if the guy is older then it's considered "okay". What is your opinion on the chick being a little older?

Age is just a number sweetie. It's very misleading because all it ever says about two people are their chronological age and how long they've lived. But one thing age cannot say is a person's maturity. Sometimes, younger people are more, or just as mature as people older than them. The girl can be years older if she matches the boy's maturity. I think maturity between two people is more important than the age difference. If you really like this guy and you believe he matches your maturity level, I say ask him out. You'll have a wonderful time.

Well I think one should consider the legal aspect of the relationship. Is it possible that for all of the maturity that the 16 year old possesses, that their could ever be legal ramifications to the 18 year old if the 18 year old were to ever break off the relationship? Also what do the parents or legal guardians of the two young people think about the possibilty of the relationship? Has the 16 year old and the 18 year old really discussed what each wants out of the relationship, and how well they will relate to each other. Simply said.. its possible, but one might do well to remember that people change and during the ages of 16 and 18 people change alot and most are unawares of the changes taking place in their bodies, minds, values and the like.

If you really like him, then the age shouldn't matter.
Here is why age is such a big issue. People link age with maturity. When they are younger than you, it is naturally linked to immaturity, and for good reason. A year makes a huge difference in experiance. Right now, you are without a doubt applying for college, doing SAT, stuff like that. It's stuff he can't relate to.
One thing that you said kind of sweeps this out of the way, however-"I like this guy..." Clearly you have feelings for him and immaturity is not a problem for you. If that is the case, then embrace it and go for it. My Aunt is 7 years older than my uncle and they have worked out great. Perhaps this guy is mature for his age and can relate to you better. I know I always liked older girls.
So give it a chance...do you really have anything to lose by it?

Personally I love older chicks seeing as most the girls I like are a couple months and even a couple years older than me. It's perfectly fine as long as he is mature.....Also if you figure out a way to stay together when you go to college and he is still in high school.....could you tell me how? lol

There is nothing wrong with a women being older than a man. However, in your situation, make sure you are not getting sexually involved with a 16 year old boy.

The laws says it is fine as long as you don't screw..
As for every one else, most people wont find it odd.. my parants are 10 years apart and my friend just married a chick 15 years his senior.. so 2 is NOT a big deal.

It is cool to like him. There is nothing wrong with liking a younger guy. When it comes with legal age and under age you have to be careful because most states looks at it as staturatory rape.

Being a girl that is two years old is no biggy really but if you are looking for a pertner in the bedroom BAD idea, girls get in trouble for that just as well as males do or would! I say move on if that's what you had in mind!

I think you are setting yourself up for a very aggravating time. It seems like men never mature. Why would you want someone younger than you? He will just being annoying for that much longer if you get serious with him, they always do.
