Unfortunately, crazed amounts of psychotic feminisms has caused the erosion of courteous behaviour in women, and therefore, has caused the erosion of courteous behaviour in men. What man is going to be a gentleman if he's going to be yelled at by a woman, simply because he dares to hold the door open for her? I'm sorry to say, but the way women treat themselves and each other hasn't helped at all - don't cuss like a sailor and dress like a streetwalker, and still expect to be treated like a princess.
And men: Show some respect for the women in your lives. Say please and thank you, watch your language, and for goodness sakes PULL UP YOUR PANTS!
Unfortunately, some people like think these sorts of values are "archaic" and "old-fashioned" ... maybe they are. But they make society so much more enjoyable, when people are courteous to each other and thoughtful of each other's feelings.
Best Regards,
Holly

I was once yelled by a woman I did not know for opening a door for her. Truly. I have seen men who have been chivalrous, only to be completely manipulated by the objects of their chivalry.
This could probably be a very long discussion. In the past, men and women had traditional roles. The man was the breadwinner, the woman took care of the house. The man was expected to treat a lady like a queen - in return, she treated him like a king. No more. Very correctly, those traditional roles and the limitations they carried have been shattered.
But in doing so, it leaves the traditional courtesies is shambles. Why should the man pay for dinner and a movie when his date makes 30% more than he does? Is opening a door for a woman a sign He thinks She's not strong enough to handle the door? How come the last two women cursed like a sailor and this one is offended? How come He treats Her like He would a casual male friend?
Things are getting worse, I think, because the rules society used to live by have been destroyed, and no new rules have been put in place.

Courtesty all around is failing not just in guy-girl relationships. But my question is this - will women be offended if men did those courtesy things that used to done, such as opening doors, walking along the street side of the sidewalk, giving a woman your seat, and etc? The NOW group would never allow these things to pass without trying to ridicule men for it! I know because I have tried to do those things and was told I was a male chauvinist pig! So the reason we fail in these things goes both ways.
But as a society we are simply RUDE!

In general I think they are changing for the worst. Most folks seem to thing courtesy is a useless affectation and have given up on it. I disagree. Robert Heinlein stated that a general lack of courtesy and respect is one of the first signs of a failing culture.
What does it cost to be pleasant and courteous to one another? Nothing and yet so many hesitate to do so. It is a small thing but it makes a big difference.

Courtesy in general, is quickly becoming a thing of the past....what ever happened to offering an elderly person or an expectant mother your seat on the bus/subway? That really irks me to see these young punks with their hats on sideways and their underwear showing -feetup on the seats while the elderly have to stand! I think if they had've been disciplined better as children, (yes I mean spanked when showing disrespect), we would see alot more courtesy among the genders!

If equal rights is part of your question, Its turning better I think. Its becoming women are more dominant. We let the man think hes in charge only due to his ego, but really we know whats going on. Women endure the pain of so much, puberty makes a girl change if she has good parenting. However simply, If a woman gets elected as president, she wont go on the rag and hit the red button to kill the world. I think she would send men and/or women along with flowers, fruits, and toys as gifts to keep the peace! Just humorous perspective. Sorry if that wasn't your question! LMAO!

I think it just depends on the guy in question. But if it has gotten worse we can't really be surprised. We have had women's lib going on for long enough and loud enough now that most men worry that opening a car door might tick their date off. It is hard to have things both ways.

Traditional courtesies emphasize the differences and establish an artificial, virtual reality that is ridiculous, in my opinion. Victorian society represents the worst of this and the more we get away from these things, the better we'll be at being more loving and really courteous to each other. Otherwise, it becomes an artificial mannerism thing where form and style dominate over substance.

contained in usa, monogamous marriage between a guy and woman is classic. around the area and going returned added in time, you're in all likelihood precise. Our theory of marriage is surely a extremely modern-day element. In case, basing your place on custom in many cases lacks concept. In those concerns, i'm guided by potential of a philosophy of liberty. by potential of those suggestions, I might desire to believe you that marriage between consenting adults must be their very own affair. regrettably, there are various procedures wherein we violate suggestions of guy or woman liberty. On factor of substance interior the gay marriage situation is to acquire advantages for human beings in gay relationships. Like many political themes, we are wrangling over who gets advantages and who will pay. If this weren't so, gays might desire to style regardless of unions they needed with out in seek of permission from something of society.
