I am a neo--pagan but I'm not a Wiccan. I see Wicca as a very beautiful path for those called to it and respect those who have chosen this as their way of life. My only issues with it doesn't involve the religion as much as those who profess being a Wiccan yet refuse to objectively study what the religion is with any depth. But I feel this way towards people who are shallow in any religion, not just Wicca. I am tired of hearing about how Wicca is an ancient religion, ancient Irish potato goddesses, and the "ancient" Celtic Holly and Oak king myth. I wish that more people would make the distinction between Wicca and Neo-Wicca. Neither are better than the other, but they are very different.
I admire the closeness found within Wiccan covens and respect the loyalty that Wiccans have to keeping their oaths. I like the methods that they use to teach within their religion. I like their tolerance of other religions. I like the balance between tradition and unverified personal gnosis (UPG). I like the emphasis on self-responsibility. Although it isn't the path for me, I respect those who follow that path.

I'm an exWiccan Christian so I have a weird view. I think Witches are generally a very kind and loving bunch. Actually that is the problem with Wicca, at least the love and lighters. It seems that Wicca can best be summed up by an old new age bumper sticker that goes. "I have abandoned my search for the truth and am now looking for a hell of a fantasy." Many like to ignore anything negative and pretend that the universe is a great big Care Bears episode. Others (Dianic) are not much more then feminist with robes on that like to declare themselves higher then the rest. Gardanarians are also like this. They are "The one true way." Wicca in and of itself is pretty cool and is most certainly earth based. But when you add the people factor to it then anything is possible from good to plain evil. That's my silly opinion. I hope it helped
May GOD richly bless you

I am Wiccan and former Christian. I even was a lay minister. someone said Wicca is okay but not witchery. You cannot separate the two. To be wiccan is to be a witch. Some in Wicca shy away from the term witch because Christianity has corrupted the word.
When I was a Christian I did not treat Wiccan any different than I did anyone else.

Let me start by saying that I am Wiccan. I am one of the founding initiates in a local coven, I am one of the high priestess, I am a minister as well. Wicca is an earth based religion. The main part of the Wiccan rede is "Harm none do as you will" If you truly look at that statement, it would cover all of the ten commandments in the christian religion and then some. I have never felt so at peace with myself as I do as a Wiccan. It was truly a blessings that I found this religion or this religion found me. Blessings to all.

Well, I think there is a lot of misconception surrounding it. People need to be clear what exactly it is and isn't. The magick aspect for one. People don't seem to realize that magick isn't calling on the devil, but almost a form of prayer. The religion itself would gain a lot of popularity if not for the church myths surrounding it. No, I don't think I would act differently. Being a former wiccan, I know where they're coming from, and even though it only lasted a few months for me, it was one of the most religious experiences of my life. Good luck with your article.

I'm a retired Wiccan and the daughter of a Methodist minister.
I think Wicca is an interesting practice of worshiping aspects of nature. I never experienced any evil or wickedness, however, I have been told that as you assend levels of awareness and ability, there is some powers that is not so positive that is called upon. I never got that far or wanted to...
do your will but harm none

I like and respect Wiccans, I find it hard to live by the threefold law, so i couldn't be one myself(I have to much mischief and aggression inside me). Wiccans are normally really nice and trustworthy people.

I think much of what my Wiccan friends believe is beautiful. The Wiccan Rede, for example, is an excellent moral precept. "Do what you will, if it harm none." I don't believe in gods, goddesses, spirits, or magic--even natural magic,--and I see no evidence whatsoever that makes me believe that one's good and bad deeds come back to you threefold, but I admire the good Wiccans do in the name of their faith.
