Be very careful .. That is probably needed by your windows OS. There are files in your computer that may appear to be viruses but are not. If you delete these files your computer may not work properly. :) I would suggest getting Nortons Antivirus as it will tell you if it is a virus or not and will take care of it. :)

Please open the below link that will put you in "Trend Micro". And read about "patch.exe", and how to get rid of this virus.

According to Trend Micro you can get rid of this virus with their program called, "House Call", where you scan your pc direct from their server.

This is a real nasty virus an even with their instructions there still is a possibility that you will not rid yourself of this virus.

Anyway I wish you the very best. Hope that the above helps you.

If not, I would suggest that you download from: http://www.superantispyware.com This is an excellent free program that is able to remove spyware and virus that all other programs miss, especially the very difficult ones. Scans all 175,000 objects in my system. Free and you get daily updates on a manual basis with excellent support. If you upgrade you only get auto updates an a background guard. Open this program from the icon in the tray. Update the program first and then run. (Again always open from the tray).

If that program does not work, and you have an antivirus system, turn it off and download this free version that is state of the art technology. (You can only run one antivirus or you will have serious conflict). You can run three or four antispyware programs without conflict. As you really need atleast three, because one will not fine all or what another program finds.

This program will ask you for your email address, because they will send you a free key that is good for one year. After the year is up all you have to do is request another key. You want to download their home version for personal use. The corporate version is the same as the free version.. They just make corporate pay. You can frequent daily or twice per day updates an excellent support. All new versions are free.. (Just remember to turn off your antivirus program you now have and run this one.

Good luck to you.

Use a virus scanner not a malware detector.
They are 2 different things.
Run both in Safe Mode.
I like AVG antivirus and antispyware from http://free.grisoft.com .
download both programs, boot to safe mode and install, then run both.
tell yahoo to make their programmers let links show even if you use a period at the end of a sentence.

if you want free anti virus, choose AVG, else try to look for BitDefender 9.. It's pretty good, it's all in one, anti virus, and all the stuffs.
