And just what high peaking economy are we talking about,--------?------ if you really look at it as it really is then how comfortable will you be in giving $5 or $6 dollars at your local market for 4 tomato's, apples for $1.25 each well??---if we have to pay people $7 or $8 dollars an hour to pick the stuff or more, buy the time it gets to your store this will be the fact of it, so now how do you think not having imported workers will be for the economy???? to much talk about how bad these people are for us, maybe no one has stopped to think about it before this year------- but Mexicans have been coming here to work for years longer than you or i have even been alive, and each time they come they work and go back home,,, walking . to see their family's 500 miles away, so really we could say the truth of it is they have helped us finish a task at hand, and in turn helped them self's as well, and we both get what we really want food for our family's, NOW what was the problem?? i cant see one, please'' live and let live we are only here for a short while and then we die, who are we to control everything and everyone on this big planet??? have a nice day.- i am correct on this one.

Immigration is not, per se. It depends on the number of people, their skills, etc. Uncontrolled immigration, legal or not, is very bad for people, but not necessarily the economy. Slavery was great for the economy.
Uncontrolled immigration depresses wages, but lowers prices, also. It hurts native workers first, but eventually causes economic depression when no one can afford anything. That's why we place limits on the numbers of people that we accept from different countries. (in theory, anyway)
Your question leaves no room for distinction between legal and illegal. Obviously, illegal immigration creates more of drain than legal immigration, however, too many people of either status will hurt the economy. The reason that the economy is good right now, is b/c investment is up.
The stock market is a terrible barometer for the health of the economy. There are a limited number of one dollar bills in circulation. If they were all held by the same person, he would invest trillions in the stock market, however, everyone else would starve. More people invest every day b/c of workplace incentives (401K) which grows every year. Ordinary people didn't invest in the stock market in the past, like they do now.
A more accurate picture is the amount of consumer debt, the average household income, the number of people on public assistance, new home sales, durable goods sales, etc.

Immigration is part of what founded our country. I believe under the correct guidelines, immigration is a necessary part that helps America and its growth in the future. Along with the culture, the economy will eventually grow and evolve just as it always has. So in conclusion, immigration is not bad for the economy as long as its legal.

Illegal immigration is bad for our economy. Those who come into our country legally have had some type of background check and are more likely to follow US laws. While those who came in illegally, have broken the law by entering illegally and continue to brake other laws (i.e. applying for food stamps, stealing social security numbers, getting false identification, etc.).

Yes, mostly. A low population density is one of the most valuable assets a country can have. We should be generous to those who are refugees and accept our quota of them, and accept many of those who choose to come here even if they weren't forced to flee their homelands. But we shouldn't encourage large-scale immigration. I Live in NZ, but the same arguments apply to all countries. I came here from Britain.

Legal immigrants deserve respect. Illegal aliens are law breakers who do not deserve jobs, amnesty, educational subsidies, driver's licenses, and other benefits at the expense of U.S. taxpayers. Illegal aliens first should be encouraged to Go Home voluntarily and then humanely deported as the law requires. Once the public recognizes that jobs and benefits equal encouragement the public will truly press for the flow to cease. Amnesties for illegal aliens have clearly made the problem worse and should be vigorously opposed.
The size of the overall economy is an economic statistic with no value outside its usefulness to frauds like Lawrence Kudlow, Tamar Jacoby, and the editorial board of the Wall Street Journal as a means to hoodwink gullible and short-sighted Americans into acquiescing to the radical transformation of their country through mass immigration.

I think immigration is great for our economy. The more people that are here..the more people there are that are spending money and putting funds into our economy.
The things that are bad on our economy is prisoners and minorities that have too many babies and waste away in government housing eating food bought with food stamps and sending their kids to daycare on vouchers and then to school to eat free lunches and have their baby on medicaid....AARRGGG
at least the mexicans pay their bills and use cash on groceries and don't file bankruptcy

Of course, it is bad. We already have too many people. Also we are not getting the cream of the crop. We simply don't need to add to the problems that already exist.
