In Singapore, I brought a AIA medishield. 7 weeks ago i was hospitalised. After government grant deduction, my payable bill is less than $600. I want to claim the medishield insurance. It sent me letter saying that my claim is approved but the amount is less than minimum $2000 payable and so it cannot pay the amount for me. I could not find my hard copy policy contract that stated that. What can i do to verify? Who should i approach?

Hi, insurance company liability against loss is restricted to sum assured which fixed at the time of taking policy. And also every company and policy have exceptions. In your case there may be such exceptions might be existed. So go through your master policy copy. Still if you find insurance company paid less amount you can complain to ambudsmon with full details.
