Many Montessori school offer a half-day option. I found these through a Yahoo search. I know nothing about them other than they offer a half-day option. I suggest you do an internet search or go through the phone book and make a list of the programs that seem interesting. Call the programs and ask any questions you may have (hours, sick policy, teacher’s education, CPR certification, teacher turnover rate (good schools keep their teachers)). Go and visit these programs without your child so you can get a good feel for them. Be a fly on the wall and watch how the teachers interact with the children. Ask yourself some questions. Are the children happy? Is the school clean? Does it seem organized? Are the teachers happy? Do they enjoy the children? How do they discipline? How are the teacher’s classroom management skills? Are the children calm or are they running a muck? Once you do this you are sure to find a program that fits. Go with your gut!
