A minigun is a rotary multi-barreled "gatling" gun (but powered by a motor so it shoots extremely fast).
Specifically it is the 7.62mm (.308 caliber) NATO chambered XM134 (experimental), M134 (Army designaltion), or GAU-2A (Navy and Air Force designation) gun made by General Electric. This was mounted on a number of helicopter types, several variants of the AC-47 and AC-130 class gunships (known as "Puff The Magic Dragon" in 'Nam and now called "Spectre" gunships), and some surface vehicles.
There was also an XM214 electrically driven rotary gun chamberd for 5.56mm (.223 caliber) NATO ammunition which is often called a "minigun." Generically, many powered rotary guns of less than 20mm caliber are called "miniguns" though again this is technically an incorrect useage, since the name "Minigun" was originally meant to specificy the MINIature (7.62mm) version of the 20mm M61 "Vulcan" GUN. But the inexact useage seems to have become the predominant useage, so maybe today it is more correct to say "a minigun" is ANY motor-driven, small-caliber, rotary gun. But before the late 1980's it meant one and only one type of gun, the GE M134 / GAU-2A.
The Jolly Green Giant is a very large Sikorsky helicopter used by the Marines, type designated the CH-53. Its primary role is as a troop transmort but it also serves well as a cargo helicopter and can perform some pretty stunning heavy-lift duties as well. According to Wikipedia's data it can even out-lift the famous "sky crane" helicopters of the 1960's (the ones that look like some giant insect, and could carry a tank or a small house) -- I'd believe it, we used to watch them carry bundles of F-14 engines onto and off of the carrier I served on in the Navy, and those engines are HUGE and HEAVY.
