My Border Collie puppy (Dixie) has now been confirmed with the vet to have allergies to "dust"! Do any other people have this sort of problem, or is it just a funny coincidence that after we had a blind dog we get one with allergies??

I too have a baby with allergies. I am still looking for a "natural" remedy to give him on a regular basis, as he seems to suffer frequently. When he feels bad he comes and asks me to pick him up, he wants to be held, and he hides his head in my neck like a little kid would.

As time has progressed, I have found it beneficial to keep liquid Children's Benedryl on hand. For example, yesterday, he came in from playing in the yard and crawled up in my lap, I looked down at him and his face was half swollen from whatever was in the air. I used the benedril to stop the immediate reaction. Because he periodically has these reactions, my vet advised me on the correct dosage for his weight. I'll then wait about a half hour, all the while keeping a close eye on him, to see if the benedryl does the trick. If not, off we go to the vet.

Always know how much medicine you give your puppy and at what time so that if you have to rush him to the vet you don't OD your puppy.

No coincidence. You are chosen to be a caregiver :0)

Try giving your puppy nettle from the health food store, there is a spray and liquid form. It is for allergies, so the health food lady told me :0)

Unfunny coincidence. Ah well, at least it's a good incentive to keep the place clean.
