I seldom follow recipes to the letter because most of the recipes have something in them someone in my family will not like so I modify them to suite everyone..I got your question too but I really doubt you will get the results you think you will! Christian ! God Bless...You might find that no one can follow the "book" making it necessary for an alternate plan! Thank God for the savior

I do cook, and I both follow recipes and throw stuff together. I made Osso Buco last night for the first time, and I did not know (the cookbook didn't tell me, but wikipedia did today) that I was supposed to leave the round bones in while it cooks. It was delicious, but I wonder what it would taste like if I had made it correctly. I also bake. You know, when I was younger I always wanted my talent to be singing or dancing, but now that I am a married mother of two, I know those talents wouldn't help me even if I had them. My husband LOVES to eat. :o) I am a Christian, by the way.

I'm a really great cook and I use recipes as a guide for suggestions/recommendations. Typically I'll search on the net for something I've never made before, see the varieties of suggestions and ingredients; check out substitutions - if need be then I go for it.

I enjoy making soups, stews, chili, curries, chunky sauces, large meals (like turkey or roast dinners). I've baked breads, muffins and cakes - they're ok, but I prefer more elaborate meals.

The biggest key to cooking (in my opinion) is knowing when and how to use different spices and seasonings.

I'm a Christian.

I cook both ways. Sometimes following recipes from memory,or a book and sometimes experimenting. The same with baking. I love to bake.
I am Catholic.

Whats a recipe? if i don't know how to make something i improvise. Glad i'm not the only one who throws together a meal. I have to bake . if i didn't i would lose my spare tire cause my wife refuses to cook. I love to make stir fry. Easy and all the basic food groups. You can throw anything in there. crock pots are great, too. For lazy people. Oops! Thats me! I'm methodist but i cook cajun, itailian, some mex, and american (meat and potatoes).

Yes, I love to cook, pretty much anything that sounds good, but I'm a big huge seafood lover so give me a good lobster dish and I'm there lol.

I follow recipes, the first time lol. They are important, but I'm also extremely okay with substitutions to save money .... but I'm also the kind that watches Martha Stewart then shops at Walmart

I also just throw things together, hubby calls it my "halmish-balmish", whatever that means lol. Oh yeah, I also bake. Allll the time .... I make my bread because it's cheaper and better than store-bought, I make my own desserts because they are better for you than store-bought (and cheaper, sometimes).

Oh, and I'm Christian.

I'm an Agnostic and I've been cooking on my own without help for almost 30 years now. If I am trying a recipe for the first time I always follow directions exact.. after I have a feel for it I tweak it to my own personal tastes. For the most part, I cook without measuring or following a book.

My favorite things to cook is chicken & pesto, mexican lasagne, chicken cordon bleu, pumpkin cheesecake.

I get an idea of what I want and the tastes that I want to come through and try and get that all together without putting too much of one thing or another. Sometimes recipes are nice, but i tend to use them as guidelines.

A friend of mine (a great cook) would tell me that God made everything perfect, and he would pray that he wouldn't screw any of it up.

Christian and I am a country cook
That is how my mom taught me
I usually don't follow a recipe, if I do I don't' measure.
My favorite thing to cook is homemade mashed potatoes, fried chicken, and home style green beans.
I do bake, but not very often.

I get it too!

I'm agnostic, and when I cook I throw things together.

Although, I must admit that when I bake, I follow recipes! But when I try one that's not that great, I'll change it around on my own to see what works.

Does that mean I'm a goddess?
