holla from csu!
college life is great. you don't have to worry about people expecting you to be a certain way, because they don't know you. you can be your real self not the 'nerd' 'goth' 'jock' or whatever you were labled as in highschool.
yeah, there are mean people just like highschool, but there are sooo many people around, that you can find nice ones much easier. also, since no one really knows who's 'cool' they tend to be a lot nicer to everyone at first. you'll make friends the first month that will last forever.
some guys get more serious about dating, especially since you'll all live away from parents. however, most freshman guys just want to date date date! you'll get asked out a lot, but beware, they might not want anything serious for a year or two.
at csu people aren't that stuck up, although a lottt more of them are into sports and big parties. for a more laid back, chill atmosphere, try cu boulder.
also, as long as you get out there and try to interact with people, they'll like you. everyone wants to make friends the first week. remember, who you are the first month of college is how people will remember you, so be friendly, be nice, and they'll all love you!

It's different, very different, but there are some similarities.

About 99% of the people are more mature, but there will always be the jerk who is still immature.

There's a lot less drama. That crap just doesn't really matter anymore. You might have problems within your group of friends, but you will not be stigmatized against by the entire school.

As for dating, it depends a lot on the guy. A lot of guys want to "play the field" and "get the college experience" their first couple years, but they usually calm down and become more serious as they become sophomores, juniors, etc.

There are stuck up rich people everywhere. The wonderful thing about college is you don't have to try to become friends with these people because there are SO many more groups, and there isn' the "cool kid" everyone has their own friends, and is "cool" within that group.
