I have had my Phillips TV for about a year and all of a sudden it has turned black and white i don't know if my husband messed with it(he swears he didn't) anyways, I can't turn it back to color. I already tried messing with it with the remote but no success any ideas of what it may be?

There is only one "L" in Philips.

Plus the answer right above mine is correct.

I'll assume you set your color halfway in your menu....that's the Factory spec setting.....

Next, you made sure it wasn't your cable box by looking at your DVD too Right?? Check all units plugged into your TV and see if just one unit is black and white or ALL are....if ALL are, then you do have a problem in or Near your TV....

IF YOU ARE USING.....HDTV with component input....You lose color if ONLY the G or Y connector is connected....Pr and Pb signals create color so check those if you're only having problems with a "Component" input......

Now, if all units show black and white no matter what you try.....It's time to call an authorized service center for Phillips TVs....There's nothing more you can do except check your cables and check your Video sources/units.

From here it's going to require an oscilloscope to test the video circuitry, so don't be surprised if the tech says he has to take it to the shop.

I would unplug it and leave it unplugged for about 4 hours and then replug it in to see if it will reset itself. Even if hour husband did mess with the color, there is no way to make it pure black and white. You may have to take it in to be serviced. Also keep in mind if it is 13-20", it may just be less expensive to replace it since a shop will charge you $75 to look at it.
