open up your computer and look for the manufacture and the model of the sound card, go to that manufacture website and download the driver for it.

check your device list by right clicking on my computer, and selecting manage, go to device manager, does your sound card have a yellow question mark next to it, do you even have a sound card listed, if not then you need to find out what type you have and install the drivers from the manufacturer's website, if it is listed this will be easier because it will already tell you what the make and model is, and then you still need to download the drivers from the manufacturer's website. Once you have them downloaded, remember where you saved them, go to device manager, right click on your sound card, select properties, then select update driver and point it to where you saved the files.
