I would not go cheaper than Andre. I recently supplied the champagne for a renewal and I got an Italian asti from Spect's. I'll look it up for you...it was affordable and good and only 5% alcohol. It's Verdi asti spumante. I think Walmart even has it at some locations, but its cheaper by the case.

Prosecco is the varietal Italian sparkling wines from the Veneto region are made from. It is inexpensive, but generally not cheap in quality and is great for Mimosas. One of my faves is "Rustico". We like to use a splash of mango juice or make Rossinis with blended strawberries for a twist on the typical brunch drinks. Happy 21st!

Asti Spumante, Friexnet or a nice sparkling wine { the dryer the better, too sweet becomes nauseating}. Switching to Kir's is a great idea too. One word of experience though, don't be too surprised if you get the worst headache of your entire life the next day.

Freixenet. Pronunciation is roughly "freshen-ette." Not great, but not plonk; a good mixer.

Though if I was getting 'faced,' with champagne, I'd stop with the mimosas in early afternoon and switch to kir royales.

Spanish equivilant of champange, its called Cava, Frexinet is one of the brands, is cheap as you like, advise going for the semi seco, rather than the brut though.
