a better question might be: "what do you think jesus would say when he hit his thumb with a hammer?"

No sir! He came as the Messiah.

Now this saying that Joseph was a carpenter may be much more that meets the eye. Joseph may well have been a Mason...skilled in the arts of the ancients. I don't know if Jesus built chairs and tables but I know he was the son of the supreme architect.

As a child growing up in a Jewish family, he would have worked under Joseph as a carpenter for the majority of his life. Since he had the full use of his mental capabilities, as well as physical, he likely did the job very well. He didn't start his ministry until he was fully mature, at age 30. Of late, medical science has found that this is when males reach their physical, emotional, and hormonal maturity. At his baptism, the Holy Spirit downloaded all of his pre-existence memories into his brain, so it had to be fully mature to be ready for that large volume of data. Until then, he only knew that he was the Son of God by what had been taught him, not because of actual memories of it.

The Bible doesn't state that he was a carpenter! It states that he was the SON of a Carpenter however it was usual in those days for the son to follow in the same occupation as the father so it is assumed that he was.
