Everyone who coughs isn't sick. Some of us suffer from post nasal drip. I have that same problem. Post nasal drip is similiar to a runny nose. The mucus flow to the back of the throat instead of flowing through the nostils. This happens because of the inflammation of nostril. Some people are smokers, and we have tiny microscopic hairs within the throat. Bacteria from smoking get intangled into those microscopic hairs which causes irritation. This is why people sound like they are choking when this occurs.

Sickness is spreaded that way. When one coughs, another & so on... I'm just 13 & knew that? Not to be mean, but none of us are psychic. All I can tell you is that the weather is probably the cause. :l

This is cold and flu season...so, I think you will find more and more coughs, sneezes etc., being done in public. Hopefully, people are covering their mouths when they cough or sneeze and discard tissues appropriately. As to your question, it's not possible to predict when one is going to sneeze or cough, so staying home - in private - just is not workable!

Because workplaces make it so hard for legitimately ill people to take sick leave. Wash your hands often, carry hand sanitizer, and keep antiseptic wipes in your desk to wipe off the phone, etc.

if they are like me it is the changing seasons. i always get that way until the weather makes up it's mind whether to stay cold or hot.
