You can ask, expect to be rejected. If you can accept that, go for it.

You're already screwed. First you went to a friend to ask questions about her. Gives the impression what she feels is unimportant and that you make a habit of going behind her back. Second, what makes you think her friend has all the answers? Third, if you're not man enough to even gather up the courage to ask her on a date, why should she even consider it? I don't think you've gotten past the cartoon watching stage in your life yet to consider playing 'grown-up' and assume any kind of responsibility thats required in a relationship with a female. In the furture try going to the person you claim to care about. And stop giving amo to so-called friends who in the name of friendship will make sure you are never as happy as they claim to be.

I don't think it's a good idea...she may still be in love with her ex, it may be too soon for her to move on just yet, or she may be frustrated with relationships in general right now. I think you should wait until some of her hurt's gone away before you make your move.

No. She has made herself unavailable for a reason. Going after girls like that will only hurt your feelings.

You can try, but prepare to be shot down. It's not easy for girls to trust guys after one of them destroyed us.

Yes, definitly. I usually do that because I don't want anyone asking me any further question. (Like who would you go with and blah blah blah) But you should ask her ANYWAY.
