My showdesktop icon got deleted from the taskbar.. i need it back how do i get it back.. Windows Xp x64

If the Show Desktop icon is missing, and the Show Desktop.scf file is present in the Windows\System, or WINNT\System32 folder, you can add it to the Quick Launch Bar by performing the following steps:

Click Start/ Find /Files or Folders, or Start/ Search /For Files or Folders and seacrh for *.scf.Drag the Show Desktop file from the c:\windows\system folder to the quick lanch bar to create a shortcut for it there.NOTE: If the Show Desktop icon is missing from the Quick Launch Bar, you can recreate it by following this article:

lot of steps.... follow along!

Open Windows Explorer: On the left, clk on:
+sign on My Computer
+sign of C:\
+sign of [folder with YOUR name on it]
+sign of Application Data
+sing of Microsoft
+sign of Internet Explorer
clk on Quick Launch folder.

the Show Desktop shortcut icon is in Quick Launch folder.
right clk it and choose: Send To Desktop as shortcut

from the desktop, drag it to the task bar if you want it there.

If you can't find it, do a search for: Show Desktop and you will get several listings of where it is located. Use any one of them to make a desktop shortcut.

push start hit settings then hit taskbar and start menu
