Yes. But consider a crumble topping, a mixture a brown sugar, butter, nuts, and oatmeal. Gives nice texture. You can use the crumble recipe here.
CRUMBLE TOPPING:
In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup all purpose flour, 3 tbsp. softened butter, 6 tbsp. sugar and 1/3 cup chopped pecans. Blend until crumbly.

Did you buy piecrust dough or a crust in a tin? Berry pies need a top crust or a lattice. Drain the blueberries and heat them in a saucepan with about 1/3 c sugar, a little lemon juice, and some cornstarch. Hopefully that will thicken them a little and make a syrup. Put them in the pie crust and figure out something to go on the top. If you use a solid crust make sure you pole holdes with a fork or you'll have an explosion. Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes and then check it.

It won't be as good if you don't put some kind of topping on top. I agree with the others who said to put a crumble mixture on top. That would be really good. But if you want to go all out, you can whip up a batch of homemade pie crust and make a lattice top on it. Very pretty.

NO!! this type of pie needs a top crust to hold it all together!
This is your chance to be creative!!and get in touch w/ your feminine side...
-Make a lattice top pie {thin strips of dough criss-cross}
-make a "crumb top" just take little flour, brown sugar N shortnen..use pastry cutter and cut until balls form..
-spread cream cheese across the top
-use a pack of oatmeal as a topping cut with some flour N shortnen...
-blueberries r delicate, they burn..not a good taste!

Yes you can;top it with Cool whip or make you own whipping cream; here is recipe:
1/3 c brown sugar
1/3 c flour
1/4 butter
1 egg
dash of salt

Mix flour, sugar and salt together, beat egg and add to sour cream, combine with dry ingredients and bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
Or if you like you can go ahead and bake pie and top with your favorite Ice cream.

You're going to need a topper unless you can find a way to make your filling come out really firm (with gelatin or tapioca). Its no trick to make your own pie crusts. You can also do a topping using nuts, oats, magarine and brown sugar in lieu of a topper.
